Previously, Mr. Macron also decided to end his attendance at the European Union (EU) Summit in Brussels early and return home to chair a security meeting.

Riotous protests have erupted in France in recent days after police shot and killed a 17-year-old boy, identified as Nahel M, on the morning of June 27 for not obeying police orders while participating in traffic.

To stabilize the situation, France has deployed 45,000 police officers along with armored vehicles, elite police units and other security forces across France.

As of the evening of June 30, police had arrested more than 1,300 people. However, despite the presence of security forces, acts of looting continued in the cities of Lyon, Marseille and Grenoble.

The extremists broke into stores, looted cars and burned trash cans.

Looting even took place during the day, targeting some stores in the city of Strasbourg, eastern France.
