The President submits to Congress a draft amendment to the law on 'diplomatic agencies'.

According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, the draft amendment to the law "on diplomatic services " will strengthen the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and establish the institution of the Special Representative of Ukraine.

On December 22, President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted to the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) a draft amendment to the law "on diplomatic services," which is expected to promote the country's diplomacy in a more modern and effective direction.

According to the Ukrainian President's website, Zelensky made this statement during a meeting with Ukrainian diplomats in Kyiv on "Ukrainian Diplomatic Service Day".

Speaking at the meeting, the Ukrainian leader shared: “Today, I submitted draft amendments to the law 'on diplomatic services' to the Verkhovna Rada. The new criteria will make Ukraine’s diplomatic system more modern and enable it to function more effectively.”

According to President Zelensky, the aforementioned legislative initiative aims to strengthen the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and establish a Special Representative for Ukraine.

In addition, the draft amendment also opens up the field of cyber diplomacy and related cooperation policies with Kyiv's partners.
