If the city completes 70 more files from now until the end of the year, it can collect about 86,000 billion VND from land in 2025. The information was given by the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City at a socio -economic information meeting in the area on the afternoon of October 2.
According to Mr. Dao Quang Duong, Head of the Land Economics Division, Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City, the work of determining land prices in the area is having many positive changes thanks to the Land Law 2024 and Decree No. 71/2024/ND-CP of the Government taking effect, helping to shorten the processing time. Many records from land allocation to land price approval take less than two months.
However, the city still has about 84 land allocation and land use conversion records from 2003 to 2013 that have not yet determined their prices. The city has repeatedly petitioned the Central Government to allow the land price list to be multiplied by the adjustment coefficient - a solution that has been in place since 2015 in all provinces and cities, but has not yet yielded results. Recently, the City People's Committee continued to send a report to the Prime Minister and ministries to propose solutions.
According to Mr. Duong, if resolved, the 84 backlog cases, equivalent to 84,000 apartments, with more than 300,000 places of residence, will contribute to removing the land bottleneck that has lasted for many years. Land valuation not only brings in budget revenue but also impacts many areas: from attracting investment, developing housing, to site clearance and transparent land management. Removing obstacles and shortening the land valuation progress will resolve the backlog that has lasted for many years and open up great opportunities for the city to effectively exploit land resources, creating momentum for socio-economic development.
