Accordingly, people who own houses but are far from their workplace will be considered for social housing support if they fall into one of the following three cases:
Firstly, people who own houses in wards located 14.5km or more from their workplace must ensure that the distance from the social housing project to the workplace is closer than the distance from their current house to the workplace.
Second, people who own houses in communes 20km or more from their workplace must ensure that the distance from the social housing project to the workplace is closer than the distance from their current house to the workplace.
Third, people who own houses in Con Dao Special Zone are not considered for social housing support policies in Con Dao Special Zone; except in cases where they own houses in Con Dao Special Zone but the average housing area per capita is lower than 15m2 of floor space/person.
The above distance is determined according to the shortest route by road or waterway, from the residence to the workplace of the person registering to buy or rent-purchase social housing.
The Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City is assigned to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, People's Committees of wards, communes and special zones to guide, inspect and supervise the implementation. The investor of the social housing project is responsible for receiving the documents, ensuring the subjects and conditions are in accordance with regulations.
