Sweet spring fruits on the hillsides of Long Sap

Việt NamViệt Nam06/02/2025

Moc Chau is not only famous for its green tea hills and vast flower fields, but also for its sweet fruit seasons. In recent years, Long Sap commune has promoted the policy of planting fruit trees on sloping land, especially crops suitable for local soil conditions, bringing high economic value. The barren hillsides are now covered with the green of fruit-laden orchards, bringing a stable source of income to the local people.

Previously, the entire hilly area of Mrs. Dao Thi Van's family in Bo Sap village was mainly used for growing corn and cassava. Six years ago, her family boldly switched to growing oranges; thanks to applying appropriate farming techniques, her orange garden has developed well, producing sweet fruit and high productivity. The ripe oranges not only bring a stable income but also contribute to beautifying spring with a prosperous and happy life.

Ms. Dao Thi Van, Ban Bo Sap, Long Sap Commune, Moc Chau, Son La : From Moc Chau to Long Sap, everyone knows about the orange product. Wherever the product is harvested, they link together to buy, instead of the family going out to sell, the whole container truck comes to buy. Each year, the harvest is about 40-50 tons, the economy is about 500-600 million depending on the year.

Implementing the policy of converting ineffective sloping land into fruit trees, Long Sap commune now has over 610 hectares of fruit trees such as: mandarin orange, plum, passion fruit, pear... Thanks to the application of advanced farming techniques, crop productivity has increased significantly, bringing a stable source of income to the people.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phan, Ban Bo Sap, Long Sap commune, Moc Chau, Son La : Compared to growing corn and cassava, the economic efficiency is many times higher. Now, we just have to practice and learn from our brothers to improve the quality of our products. As for expanding the area, we can grow as much land as we have.

Mr. Hoang Van Tho, Vice Chairman of Long Sap Commune People's Committee, Moc Chau District, Son La : Long Sap Commune has implemented a number of models, especially fruit tree models in the area such as Canh orange, red-fleshed cara orange and some models such as pear trees. In 2025, we are also focusing on developing a number of effective fruit tree planting models in the area to increase income and stabilize the people.

The sweet fruits of spring in Long Sap land are not only the result of the diligence and creativity of the people but also the proof of the effectiveness of the fruit tree planting policy on sloping land. A new spring has come, bringing with it hope and the sweet fruits of change. And on the hillsides of Long Sap border commune, spring is bustling in every fruit-laden garden, signaling a new year of prosperity and happiness./.
