Childhood passion

Until now, in his teaching sessions and courses, Mr. Tran Ngoc Huy still often shares with students about his childhood memories and his passion for technology and electronics. “When I was in primary school, I had a whole corner of my room to collect broken electronic devices such as speakers, amplifiers, radios...

Whenever I had free time, I would take things apart, observe and study them carefully to understand how they worked. Once, I took apart my mother's alarm clock to make a toy and got... beaten. There were countless times I invented toys and played games with my friends in the neighborhood," Huy recounted.

In 2003, he studied Information Technology (IT) at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry. Immediately after graduating from university, Huy had a stable job in Ho Chi Minh City as a network system administrator. In 2010, he switched to working as an IT engineer and participated in the Youth Union activities at the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Guest House. Also from this environment, Huy promoted his abilities and strengths and was assigned to work as a staff member for the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Office.

During his time working in Ho Chi Minh City, he was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Central Youth Union and many other noble awards... “Fortunately working and interacting with many leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, I have trained and learned many skills as well as strong political will; visited and studied in many localities across the country and collected many beautiful memories. From here, I cherish the plan to return to my hometown to carry out some charity and social activities as well as teach life skills to young people, especially children in disadvantaged areas,” said Mr. Huy.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Huy is currently a guest lecturer in IT and AI Applications, soft skills for a number of universities nationwide. He is also the co-head of the secretariat of the Invention Village and Innovative Enterprises - National TechFest. In addition to his professional work, Mr. Huy also devotes himself to actively participating in charity activities, and is a magician who regularly attends events that bring joy to everyone.

Spreading positive values... with digital technology

“In 2021, I established the NewSky Education System in Hieu Giang commune and focused on studying, researching, and teaching life skills to students. During this time, I also focused on improving my knowledge, researching digital technology, and how to apply it to various areas of life,” Huy said.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers faced many difficulties in transitioning from traditional teaching to online teaching. With his expertise, Mr. Huy and two other life skills teachers collaborated to establish the National Life Skills Teacher Community.

He said: “In this community, I organize free training and guidance on how to use IT applications to teach online most effectively. Meetings to discuss content and how to implement training courses often last until 2 or 3 a.m. every day, but our joy is that thousands of teachers from kindergarten to university lecturers and business people are trained in skills, contributing to improving the effectiveness of online teaching and training.”

From this community, Mr. Huy was connected and participated, directly responsible for IT technical work, ensuring network security for national online TechFest events hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology to promote the national innovation and startup ecosystem. As an IT engineer, accessing, researching and applying digital platforms as well as AI has many advantages for Mr. Huy.

Over the past 5 years, he has participated in many teaching and training courses nationwide on the application of digital technology in various areas of life; training on digital transformation applications and digital marketing for many businesses inside and outside the province, such as: Training course on "Business skills and brand development on digital platforms for businesses in Quang Tri province" in 2025; applying technology and AI to office work, marketing, and teaching at Van Hien University, Ho Chi Minh City...

Tran Ngoc Huy is also a familiar face, regularly participating in inspiring career orientation programs for students at many schools in the province.

Sharing about how to “master” digital technology, Mr. Huy said that in the current era, everyone, especially the young generation, needs to have an open mind and be eager to learn to develop themselves. With highly practical technology applications, to apply them quickly, one must constantly research, not be afraid of mistakes, and not be passive.

However, according to him, AI is just a tool, so learn to master the tool and not let it lead you. Mr. Huy affirmed: “Personally, I choose the “learning while doing” method. That means every time there is a new AI tool, I immediately research and experience it, use it to simplify work, and improve work efficiency when needed. I always keep in mind that technology cannot replace people, but those who know how to master technology will replace those who do not know.”
