The “Heritage Photography Award - Heritage Journey 2025” is the 11th photography award organized by Heritage Magazine of Vietnam Airlines .

The final round of the competition was held in early August, with the jury including Ms. Tran Thi Thu Dong - President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Mr. Luu Dinh Phuc - Director of the Press Department; Mr. Ma The Anh - Director of the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) and professional photographers representing the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (NSNAVN).

With 4 categories including cultural heritage; tourism - landscape; lifestyle - human portrait; special techniques, the photo collections all focus on exploiting the themes of nature, country, people, especially tangible and intangible heritages of Vietnam. These are also familiar topics in Heritage publications.

The 10 award-winning photo collections of all 4 categories this year were carefully considered and selected by the jury, because the quality of the entries was quite even. Therefore, the new current events factor, or the elaborateness in the creative organization process, are the deciding factors for the works to be awarded. According to the 2025 award rules, the photo collections were selected to be awarded Special - Set - Cover prizes according to each theme, and at the same time, there were 3 representative photo collections sponsored by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists to be awarded Gold - Silver - Bronze medals at the regional level according to the Association's regulations.

In the end, the photo series “Journey to follow the Bryde whale in Nhon Ly sea” by photographer Nguyen Ngoc Thien (also a hot whale photography journey in July of the domestic photography community) received high consensus from the Jury to receive the Special Prize for the tourism - landscape category, and was awarded the VAPA Gold Medal (by the Vietnam Association of Photographers).
The award-winning photo collections in the cultural heritage or lifestyle categories are all elaborate works introducing the heritage and traditional customs of the nation. The special technical category with photo collections taken using macro, flycam or underwater techniques is very special, with the award of the Photo Collection Award, and also received the VAPA Bronze Medal for the photo collection "Kingfisher Hunting Moment" by author Bui Trong Nghia.

This year, there are up to 4 field composition sessions (photo tours) organized within the framework of the competition, carried out with the accompaniment of sponsors such as Land Rover Vietnam; Sony - Alpha Vietnam; Viet Flying Pilot School; and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri, with the participation of a large team of Heritage photo collaborators and hundreds of works created in the field.
