Over 40,000 visitors came to visit Lao Cai Provincial Museum

In 2025, the activities of Lao Cai Provincial Museum recorded many positive changes when gradually shifting from the "preservation" model to "interaction and experience", thereby improving communication efficiency and attracting a large number of visitors. Up to now, the total number of visitors to the Museum has reached over 40,000, equal to 111.2% of the plan; of which international visitors reached 300, exceeding the set target by 150%.

Over the past year, the Provincial Museum has completed the exhibition at the National Achievements Exhibition with the theme: "Lao Cai - strong mountains and rivers, cultural identity, aspirations to reach far", attracting nearly 2 million visitors. At the same time, the unit continues to implement the project of collecting new documents and artifacts and building additional lesson plans to support teaching on intangible cultural heritage, serving the local history education program for secondary school students in the 2024 - 2025 school year.

In professional work, the Museum has synchronously carried out the preventive preservation of 100 artifacts and the treatment of 75 artifacts, reaching 100% of the plan; organized 1 archaeological excavation. In addition, managed 100 artifacts at facility 1, collected 100 additional artifacts at facility 1 and 210 artifacts at facility 2. Exhibition activities continued to be expanded, with 17 events at facility 1, reaching 243% and 9 events at facility 2, reaching 112.5%.

In 2026, Lao Cai Provincial Museum continues to aim to expand experiential activities, strongly apply digital transformation in exhibition and explanation to improve service quality. The unit will promote the collection of valuable artifacts, strengthen cooperation with schools and research facilities to spread the value of cultural heritage to the community; aim to build more new exhibition topics, creating highlights to attract tourists inside and outside the province.
