Over 4.2 billion VND to support union members and workers affected by storm No. 3

On November 15, the Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) organized a ceremony to present support to union members and workers affected by storm No. 3. Attending the conference were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.

Leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission and the Provincial Labor Federation presented symbols of support funds to union members and workers of the Labor Federations of Ha Hoa and Phu Ninh districts and the Labor Unions of the province's Industrial Parks.

Implementing the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on caring for and supporting union members and workers affected by storm No. 3, the Provincial Federation of Labor has instructed all levels of unions to review the affected union members and workers, assess the damage and complete the request form with confirmation from the local authorities. On that basis, the grassroots union proposes the level of support according to the estimated damage of each union member's family and makes a list to send to the Provincial Federation of Labor for appraisal and consideration of support.

As of November 5, 2024, the Provincial Federation of Labor has received 3,460 applications, of which 3,391 union members and employees have valid documents and are eligible for consideration for support. Of these, 611 union members and employees with estimated losses from 10 million to under 20 million VND will be supported with 1 million VND/person; 339 union members and employees with estimated losses from 20 million to under 30 million VND will be supported with 2 million VND/person; 643 union members and employees with estimated losses from 30 million VND or more will be supported with 3 million VND/person and 1,798 union members and employees whose travel is affected by the Phong Chau bridge collapse will be supported with 500,000 VND/person by the Provincial Federation of Labor.

Leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation presented the symbol of funding to support the construction of "Union Shelter" houses to 2 union members of the Labor Federations of Tan Son and Yen Lap districts.

The Provincial Federation of Labor also organized an appraisal and decided to support the construction of a "Union Shelter" for 2 union members with an amount of 90 million VND. The support fund was given by the Provincial Federation of Labor to the direct superior union at the grassroots level to give to union members and workers.

Previously, the Provincial Federation of Labor visited and supported 2 families of union members and workers who died, each family receiving 10 million VND. The total amount of support that the Provincial Federation of Labor provided to union members and workers affected by storm No. 3 was over 4.2 billion VND.

In addition, the Provincial Federation of Labor also proposed that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor support over 30 million VND for Dan Thuong 1 Primary School and 1 union member in Ha Hoa district.

The timely attention and support of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Provincial Confederation of Labor contributed to helping union members and workers affected by storm No. 3 have more motivation to overcome difficulties, feel secure in working and stabilizing their lives.
