North Korea has the capability to strike all of North America with nuclear weapons.

On February 15, the head of the Policy Office of the North Korean Ministry of Defense issued a press statement titled "Strengthening the defense capabilities of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is an essential requirement to deter the increasing provocative attempts of adversaries and ensure national security."

Recently, the Commander of North American Command (NORTHCOM) stated that North Korea has the capability to strike all of North America with nuclear weapons, and also claimed that North Korea's intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) threaten the security of US territory and its missile defense system.

In a retaliatory move, North Korea's statement emphasized: "The United States is posing a serious threat to the security environment of the Korean Peninsula and the rest of the world by recklessly pursuing armament and radical modernization of its nuclear forces. Therefore, the U.S. speaking of a 'threat' from someone is a robber's sophistry, like the guilty party suing first, causing serious confusion between right and wrong..."

North Korea's strategic armed forces are a defense force to ensure national security and the strategic balance of the region. The US describing them as a 'threat' only proves their hostility toward North Korea.

Pyongyang's statement expressed serious concern about the confrontational behavior of the US military aimed at creating public perception of a non-existent "threat" from North Korea and justifying its adventurous military ambitions to gain power dominance in the region.

The statement indicated that the current US administration supports the establishment of an offensive missile defense system aimed at preemptive strikes against other countries and the weaponization of outer space under the pretext of territorial defense. At this very moment, the Commander of the North Korean Command spoke of the "threat from North Korea." This clearly reveals their true intentions.

North Korea stated that the recent public entry of a US nuclear submarine into the Korean Peninsula, and the alleged collusion between US Space Force officials and the Japanese and South Korean militaries to share information on the detection of North Korean ballistic missiles and conduct joint space exercises, all provide legitimate reasons for North Korea to strengthen its defense capabilities in response to the escalating military threat from its rivals.

Through this statement, Pyongyang asserted: "If the United States is truly concerned about its territorial security, the only way to eliminate this concern is to completely abandon its military threats and hostile policies towards independent and sovereign nations."

This is the legitimate right of a sovereign nation to continuously develop its self-defense capabilities, enabling it to effectively contain all current and future security threats, ensuring national security and regional strategic balance.

The statement concluded that the armed forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea will continue to deter and fully control all challenges and threats from rival countries with strong self-defense capabilities, while faithfully fulfilling their mission of firmly safeguarding peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in the region.
