China strengthens cooperation, accuses the West of destroying the global economy

On November 8, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu met with Mr. Zhang Youxia - Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China in Moscow to discuss measures to strengthen cooperation between the two sides.

During the meeting with Mr. Truong Huu Hiep, Mr. Shoigu emphasized: "We, unlike some aggressive Western countries, do not form a military bloc. The relationship between Russia and China is a testament to strategic interaction based on trust and respect."

This is the second time in 10 days that the two Russian and Chinese officials have met. The last time the two sides met was on October 30 on the sidelines of a forum in Beijing attended by Mr. Shoigu.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping declared an "unlimited" partnership between the two countries before Russia launched a special operation in Ukraine in late February 2022.

In another development, on November 8, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also accused the West of sabotaging the global economy by imposing sanctions on Moscow and that the West's green transition had caused a crisis in the global oil and gas markets.

Speaking at a conference with foreign diplomats , Mr. Lavrov said that according to the most conservative estimates, the European Union (EU) has lost up to 250 billion euros due to sanctions against Russia.

According to Mr. Lavrov, the goal of the sanctions imposed by the West on Russia is to incite unrest and cause discontent among the people. In addition, Foreign Minister Lavrov said that the US continues to buy uranium and other important raw materials from Russia.

“Despite forcing the EU to give up everything from Russia, Washington continues to buy uranium and other important materials from Russia,” Mr. Lavrov stressed.
