During his meeting with Zhang Youxia, Shoigu emphasized: "Unlike some belligerent Western countries, we are not forming a military bloc. The relationship between Russia and China is a testament to strategic interaction based on trust and respect."
This is the second time in 10 days that Russian and Chinese officials have met. Their most recent meeting was on October 30th, on the sidelines of a forum in Beijing that Shoigu attended.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping declared an "unrestricted" partnership between the two countries even before Russia launched its special operations in Ukraine in late February 2022.
In another development, on November 8, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov simultaneously accused the West of undermining the global economy by imposing sanctions on Moscow and claimed that the West's green transition had caused a crisis in the global oil and gas markets.Speaking at a conference with foreign diplomats , Lavrov stated that, according to the most conservative estimates, the European Union (EU) has lost up to 250 billion euros due to sanctions against Russia.
According to Lavrov, the goal of the sanctions imposed by the West on Russia is to incite instability and cause discontent among the population. Furthermore, Foreign Minister Lavrov stated that the US continues to purchase uranium and other crucial raw materials from Russia.
Lavrov emphasized: "Despite forcing the EU to give up everything from Russia, Washington continues to buy uranium and other vital materials from Russia."
