University of Transport signed a cooperation agreement with a Korean road company.

Research and transfer of new environmentally friendly building material technologies that meet the requirements of sustainable development is one of the contents of the cooperation agreement recently signed between the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) and Hansoo Road Industry Co., Ltd. (Korea), SIC Construction and Trading Investment Joint Stock Company (SIC), and Tan Hoang Mai Joint Stock Company.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hung, Vice Rector of the University of Transport and Communications, stated that UTC is one of the leading and long-standing prestigious universities in Vietnam in training human resources for the transportation sector.

The university has been building and maintaining good cooperative relationships with many partners around the world , including South Korea. "We have implemented many programs and projects that bring practical benefits to the Vietnamese construction industry," said Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hung.

He expects that both sides will actively work together to build and implement a cooperation plan based on the principle of jointly carrying out scientific research projects to create new products for application in the transportation engineering industry, meeting the requirements of sustainable development.

Mr. Joungho Park, President of Hansoo Company, stated that following the signing, Hansoo will provide products researched and developed by Hansoo itself to the University of Transport and Communications for pilot evaluation projects.

"These research results will be shared between the two sides and jointly published in the Journal of Transport Science of the University of Transport, international journals, or at international conferences," said Mr. Joungho Park.

The representative from Hansoo Co., Ltd. also informed that the company will provide all the materials for the research projects and a portion of the funding according to the annual plan.

Hansoo Co., Ltd. also commits to supporting and sharing the new construction technologies it has implemented. In addition, the company facilitates the participation of students from the University of Transport and Communications in training courses on new technologies and construction methods in the road construction sector in South Korea.

According to Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Lan from the University of Transport, in addition to providing professional support, the university will also assist Hansoo Co., Ltd. in organizing communication programs, promoting its brand, and introducing its products in Vietnam if needed.

Within the framework of the cooperation ceremony, the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Transport and Communications, Hansoo Road Industry Co., Ltd., and SIC Investment Construction Trading Joint Stock Company also signed an agreement on the cooperation plan for 2024, including: cooperative activities in applying Hansoo's new material technology products to the field of road construction and maintenance.

SIC Company is committed to sponsoring the production and construction of experimental evaluations of technologies, accepting students majoring in Materials and Construction Technology for internships at the company, factory tours, internships at construction sites using Hansoo materials, and participation in scientific research projects on the application of new products in road construction.

These collaborative commitments also demonstrate the widespread interest of experts and scientists in the issue of sustainable transportation development in Vietnam.
