Recently, Dajiang International School held a graduation ceremony for its students. At the ceremony, many students who were admitted to top prestigious universities in China received awards right on stage.

Guigang City authorities have determined that some private schools are showing signs of overdoing their media exposure, so they have taken action and asked the schools to stop their controversial actions.

Among the students who came to receive their awards at Dajiang International School, the most notable was a female student surnamed Luo, who was admitted to Tsinghua University. Luo was awarded 1 million yuan in cash (nearly 3.7 billion VND).

The image of Luo receiving the bonus shocked many people, the female student immediately became a millionaire with 1 million yuan awarded by the school.

In addition to Luo, several other students were also awarded with varying amounts of bonuses, depending on the rankings of the universities they entered.

Dajiang International School has been awarding students who have been admitted to prestigious universities for several years now. In 2022, students who have been admitted to Tsinghua University or Peking University will receive a 500,000 yuan bonus. Over time, the school has continuously adjusted the bonus level to increase it.

This move has been criticized by many Chinese public opinion and is considered too pragmatic, unintentionally instilling in students the idea that studying well is to earn a lot of money quickly.

In addition, giving large sums of money to students who pass the exams with high scores also shows the unfair behavior of the school. Teachers and schools have the responsibility to care about the long-term development of each student, supporting and guiding them to have the best plans for the future, instead of focusing only on a few outstanding individuals.
