In the early hours of December 11th, Copenhagen caused a shock at Estadio de la Ceramica by defeating hosts Villarreal 3-2 thanks to a winning goal in the 90th minute by Andreas Cornelius, thus further deepening the La Liga representative's crisis in this season's Champions League.

Despite their impressive form in La Liga, trailing league leaders Barcelona by just five points, Villarreal have shown a completely different face in European competition, earning only one point from five matches.
