On June 18, in the program "Reconstruction for people in flood-hit areas", Tuoi Tre newspaper coordinated with Lao Cai Provincial Youth Union and Bac Ha District People's Committee to organize the inauguration and handover ceremony of Quan Din Ngai Kindergarten belonging to Ban Pho Kindergarten (Ban Pho commune, Bac Ha district).
Ms. Cao Thi Hai Yen - principal of Ban Pho Kindergarten - said that after storm No. 3 in 2024 (storm Yagi ), Quan Din Ngai school is located in an area at risk of landslides, so every time it rains and winds, teachers and students are very worried.
Based on the wishes of teachers and students of Quan Din Ngai Kindergarten as well as the proposal of the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ha district, Tuoi Tre newspaper surveyed and invested in rebuilding some main items of the new Quan Din Ngai school.

The new Quan Din Ngai school was built near the old school, the new construction items include 2 classrooms, 1 kitchen and 1 toilet with a total area of over 200m2 . The total construction cost is nearly 1.3 billion VND (construction cost 1.175 billion VND, multi-purpose water filter and a playground for students including slides, swings, seesaws, bouncy animals... nearly 100 million VND).
The entire budget is drawn from readers' contributions and a portion of 1 billion VND contributed by Professor, Dr. Le Ngoc Thach through the program "Together with Tuoi Tre to support compatriots affected by storm No. 3-2024".

Speaking at the ceremony, journalist Nguyen Duc Binh - Deputy Head of the Representative Office of Tuoi Tre Newspaper in Hanoi - affirmed that from today, nearly 100 children and 8 teachers of Quan Din Ngai Kindergarten will be able to study and live in new, solid, spacious and beautiful classrooms. The children will also have space to play with new, useful and practical toys.
"This is also a project that contains a lot of love, trust, and expectations from Tuoi Tre newspaper, readers, and philanthropists for ethnic minority students in mountainous areas with many difficulties.
Hopefully, the new school will contribute to realizing and fostering learning dreams, opening up a bright future for Quan Din Ngai students in particular and for the future young generation of Ban Pho," said journalist Nguyen Duc Binh.

On the occasion of the inauguration of Quan Din Ngai kindergarten, Tuoi Tre newspaper also provided livelihood support of 15 breeding horses to 15 households severely damaged by storm No. 3 - Yagi, worth a total of about 300 million VND (about 20 million VND/household).
In addition, Professor Dr. Le Ngoc Thach gave each child a gift of 100,000 VND, totaling 9.8 million VND. Morinaga Milk Group (Japan) donated 40 cartons of milk to children at Quan Din Ngai Kindergarten (each carton contained 12 blocks of milk, each block contained 4 cartons of milk).
Storm Yagi and its circulation caused huge damage to the northern mountainous provinces, including Lao Cai.
As soon as the storm passed and the flood had not yet receded, Tuoi Tre newspaper immediately spent 2 billion VND to buy 2,000 gifts (1 million VND/gift) and coordinated with Lao Cai and Yen Bai Provincial Youth Unions to go to the flooded and landslide areas to deliver 2,000 gifts to people and teachers in the flooded and landslide areas.
Immediately after that, Tuoi Tre newspaper launched a fundraising campaign to support people affected by storm and flood No. 3. In a short time, millions of readers from all over the country and abroad donated about 35 billion VND.
