The organizing committee received 241 entries from 241 authors who are members of the Vietnam Musicians Association from provinces and cities across the country. The categories included 202 vocal works, 23 instrumental works, 16 theoretical works (including monographs, collections and research papers, textbooks, and articles on music ), and 59 performance programs across various categories.

According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association, Nguyen Duc Trinh, this year's Vietnam Music Awards will include a new category, the Golden Sol Award, to honor musical products with high artistic value and outstanding contributions to the development of advanced Vietnamese music, rich in national identity. The Golden Sol and Silver Sol awards will be given to live shows, live concerts, music videos, albums, etc., as well as specialized awards for outstanding producers, directors, recordings, songs, singers, and artists.
The art council, comprising reputable musicians and experts from within and outside the Vietnam Musicians Association, such as People's Artist Nguyen Quang Vinh - Head of the council; and members including director Pham Viet Thanh, musician Quoc Trung, musician Huy Tuan, and musician Giang Son, selected high-quality works and projects to award prizes. The results included 4 A prizes, 25 B prizes, 27 C prizes, 13 consolation prizes; 5 Gold Sol prizes, 2 Silver Sol prizes, and a certificate of merit for one performance program.

The four A prizes were awarded to: " Lighting Up Vietnam" by Le Tu Minh (Ho Chi Minh City); "Hai Phong in My Heart " by Duy Thai (Hai Phong); "Passionate Dream " by Tran Quoc Dat (Army); and "Nguyen Dinh Thi and Music" by Nguyen Thi Minh Chau ( Hanoi ).
At the first Golden Sol Awards in 2024, the Best Singer award was given to Tung Duong (pictured) ; the Golden Sol Award for Artist of Dedication was given to artist Tran Manh Tuan.
In the Music Video category: The Gold Sol award was given to the music video "Nhat Bai Thien Dia" , author: The Flob (Ho Chi Minh City), director: Nguyen Minh Quang; the Silver Sol award was given to "Loi Nhan" , author: Quyech (Nguyen Tien Duc), director: Nong Thanh Tuan.
Album category: Gold Sol Award: "Finger Rivers" , author: Tran Duc Minh (Hanoi), singer: Ha Tran. Silver Sol Award: "Museum of Regret" , author: Vu (Hoang Thai Vo - Hanoi).
Live Concert Category: Golden Sol Award: Live concert " Có đôi lần" (Sometimes), author: Đức Trí (Ho Chi Minh City).
