On the evening of April 28, at Ha Tu Martyrs' Cemetery, Ha Long City, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee held a candlelighting ceremony to pay tribute to provincial heroes and martyrs in 2025. The program was attended by Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Ninh Province; representatives of departments, branches, sectors, the Fatherland Front and socio- political organizations of the province; over 500 union members, youth, association members, people, cadres, soldiers of the armed forces, veterans, former youth volunteers, relatives of families of heroes and martyrs.
In a solemn atmosphere, delegates and youth union members respectfully offered flowers, incense and lit candles to pay tribute to the heroes and martyrs. The flickering candles were like silent words of gratitude, a testament to the continuation of today's generation to the tradition of their predecessors. The province's youth vowed to faithfully follow the path chosen by the Party and Uncle Ho; determined to build Quang Ninh to become increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.
At the program, representatives of Quang Ninh youth presented many gifts to express gratitude to the Liberation Army soldiers, wounded and sick soldiers, former youth volunteers and policy households in Ha Long city.
The candle lighting ceremony was held simultaneously at memorial houses, martyrs' cemeteries and martyrs' cemeteries across the province. This is a practical activity of Quang Ninh youth towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Mining Region (April 25, 1955 - April 25, 2025); an occasionto educate revolutionary traditions, arouse patriotism and national pride in union members and youth; thereby, affirming the role and responsibility of the young generation in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
