This year's VTV Cup will take place from June 28th to July 5th at the Vinh Phuc Provincial Gymnasium. The tournament brings together 8 teams, divided into 2 groups.
Group A consists of: the Vietnam women's volleyball team, Sichuan Club (China), Australia, and PetroGazz Angels Club (Philippines).
Group B includes: Vietnam U21, Thailand U21, Chinese Taipei, and Korabelka Club (Russia).
On the afternoon of June 18th, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet announced the list of 14 players who will participate in the VTV Cup 2025. There were few surprises as he only made one change compared to the AVC Nations Cup which concluded last week. Specifically, libero Luu Thi Ly Ly (Information Corps) was replaced by Nguyen Thi Ninh Anh ( Vietinbank ). The remaining positions were kept the same.

Among them, the two stars Thanh Thúy and Bích Tuyền were already guaranteed spots as they were key players. Furthermore, the organizers certainly didn't want to see these two athletes absent, as their names were so famous and they had more than enough appeal to attract fans to watch.
After the AVC Nations Cup, the entire Vietnamese women's volleyball team is healthy and fortunately free of injuries. Currently, the team is undergoing training in Quang Ninh to prepare for the VTV Cup 2025.
Also on the afternoon of June 18th, coach Nguyen Trong Linh announced the preliminary list of the Vietnam U21 team. Notably, the list included opposite hitter Nguyen Thi Tra My (VTV Binh Dien Long An), who is in fact no longer considered to be in the U21 age group.
Recently, this athlete suffered an injury and was therefore not called up to the national team. Therefore, it's possible that coach Nguyen Trong Linh called her up to the U21 team to assess her form and regain her competitive edge.
In addition, setter Vi Thi Yen Nhi (Hanoi FC) is another overage player who has been called up to the Vietnam U21 team.
Meanwhile, the setter pair Nguyen Van Ha and Le Le Bach Hop, who had played very well for the youth team, were unexpectedly dropped from the squad. The remaining names include Pham Quynh Huong, Dang Thi Hong, Ngo Thi Bich Hue, Bui Thi Anh Thao, and Le Thuy Linh.
Between now and the start of the tournament, the Vietnam U21 team will eliminate two more players to finalize the roster.
