USD exchange rate today April 29, 2025 on the world market
The Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the USD against six major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF), stopped at 98.31 - down 0.28 points compared to April 28, 2025.

The US dollar has found its footing, little changed against the euro at $1.1365 and up 0.2% against the Swiss franc to 0.8280 francs, according to Reuters.
The dollar fell 0.5 percent against the yen to 142.99 yen, heading for its biggest monthly decline in nearly 2-1/2 years as Mr. Trump shook confidence in the reliability of U.S. assets.
The euro, on the other hand, is on track for its biggest monthly gain against the dollar since November 2022. The greenback narrowed its monthly losses against both the euro and the yen late last week amid an apparent shift toward reconciliation in US-China relations.
Investors are also awaiting the US April jobs report, due on Friday, where job growth is still expected, albeit at a significantly slower pace than last month.
Federal Reserve officials including Chairman Jerome Powell have indicated they would be willing to cut interest rates if there were clear risks to growth. But most appear to want to see the impact of Mr Trump’s tariffs on real economic indicators like inflation and employment before taking action.
“So unless the hard data – especially employment and consumption – clearly weaken, the Fed is unlikely to act before July. They need a real downturn to justify a move, not just forecasts or soft indicators,” said Saxo Bank chief investment strategist Charu Chanana.
The US will also release first-quarter GDP data and the Federal Reserve's preferred inflation measure, the core PCE index, this week, while preliminary GDP and inflation data will also be released in Europe.
