The Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to listen to a report on the implementation of the 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival in 2024.

The 6th Cham Ethnic Cultural Festival in Ninh Thuan Province, 2024 with the theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Cham ethnic group in the period of national integration and development", is expected to take place from September 27 to September 29, 2024, in Phan Rang - Thap Cham City, on a national scale. The festival has the participation of 9 provinces and cities including: Ninh Thuan, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Binh Thuan, An Giang , Tay Ninh, Quang Nam, Da Nang City and Ho Chi Minh City; the total number of participants is expected to be over 1,200 people. Within the framework of the festival, there are many cultural activities, such as: Performance, introduction of festival excerpts, traditional cultural rituals of the Cham ethnic group; exhibition space to introduce and promote traditional cultural products of the locality; display, processing and introduction of traditional cuisine; Demonstration and introduction of traditional handicrafts of brocade weaving and pottery making of the Cham people; mass art festival and performance of Cham ethnic costumes; exhibition of paintings and photos of Cham ethnic cultural colors accompanying the development of the country. Regarding sports activities, there will be competitions in 6 subjects: Tug of war, stick pushing, men's mini football, men's volleyball, women's water team, men's and women's cross-country. Regarding tourism activities, there will be a workshop with the theme: "Promoting the value of Cham cultural heritage in tourism development"; displaying and introducing tourism products.

Comrade Nguyen Long Bien, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.

Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to actively coordinate with the functional units of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to prepare conditions for organizing the activities of the Festival. In addition, quickly deploy the procedures for selecting the General Director; the event unit to develop the script, content of the opening and closing programs of the Festival; install the stage, arrange the space, install booths to organize the activities. Select athletes and artisans of the Cham ethnic group to practice sports and arts, establish a delegation to participate in the activities to ensure success according to the purpose, requirements, and content of the plan.
