Meanwhile, on the front lines, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Russian air defenses had shot down a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter in the Donetsk conflict zone. “Air defense systems near the settlement of Kleshchedyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic shot down a Ukrainian Air Force Mi-8 helicopter,” the statement said.
Additionally, the ministry said that three HARM anti-radar missiles along with eight HIMARS missiles belonging to Ukraine were also intercepted. In other events, 15 drones were destroyed in areas of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson – four territories that Russia claims to have annexed.
Additionally, according to TASS, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that Ka-52 and Mi-28 helicopters of the Southern Military District of Russia killed several Ukrainian soldiers in the Zaporizhzhia region.
"Through reconnaissance, we discovered a concentration and additional deployment of enemy personnel in one of the forests, up to 30 people... We also hit light armored vehicles, pickup trucks… and infantry fighting vehicles," a Russian military pilot told TASS news agency.
The Russian Ministry of Defense further stated that aircraft from Russia's Southern Military District continue to carry out missions to destroy enemy soldiers and armored vehicles, preventing Ukrainian counterattacks on Russian positions in Zaporizhzhia.
