[Video] National Assembly approves investment plan for Gia Binh International Airport to 5-star standard.

With over 86% of delegates voting in favor, the National Assembly passed a resolution approving the investment plan for Gia Binh International Airport - a project worth over 196,000 billion VND, aiming to become a world-class 5-star airport and a new aviation gateway for the North.

The project will be implemented in the communes of Gia Binh, Luong Tai, Nhan Thang, and Lam Thao ( Bac Ninh province). By 2030, the airport will have a capacity of 30 million passengers per year and 1.6 million tons of cargo per year; by 2050, it will reach 50 million passengers per year and 2.5 million tons of cargo per year.

The total investment is approximately VND 196,378 billion, with a minimum of 15% equity from the investor. The project will be implemented in two phases: Phase 1 (2025-2030) and Phase 2 (2031-2050), with an operating period of 70 years. The project will utilize nearly 1,885 hectares of land, including over 922 hectares of rice paddy land. The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province is permitted to relocate some historical relics to facilitate land clearance, ensuring preservation and consulting with the community.
