On March 26, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Science, Technology and Environment Le Quang Huy and the working delegation of the Ministry of Science and Technology led by Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong witnessed the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Department of Information Technology Industry and the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) with EVGroup - one of the world's leading enterprises specializing in providing equipment for semiconductor manufacturing.

This event marks a step forward in the process of promoting the development of Vietnam's semiconductor industry and expanding international cooperation in the high-tech field - a field that is becoming increasingly essential to the global digital economy .

The Memorandum of Understanding focuses on three main pillars: Research & Development (R&D) to promote research programs in nanotechnology, 3D packaging, and MEMS; Training & Capacity Building through the development of in-depth training programs for students, engineers, and researchers; and Collaborative Production and Testing to implement practical projects aimed at building a modern semiconductor manufacturing industry in Vietnam.

Emphasizing the importance of promoting international cooperation in the field of semiconductor technology, Mr. Nguyen Khac Lich (Director of the Department of Information Technology Industry) assessed that with the expertise and capacity of EVGroup and the policy of encouraging investment in domestic semiconductors, Vietnam expects to create specific and solid results in this field.

We believe that, together, we will create a future where advanced semiconductor technologies play a key role in shaping industries globally, ” said Hermann Waltl, CEO, EVGroup.

The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding marks an important step forward in promoting international cooperation, while concretizing Vietnam's Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy. It is known that in 1972, Austria was one of the first countries in Europe to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam. Last year, Vietnam and Austria celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of relations.
