Accordingly, the products donated by Vietnam Airlines are unused, dry food items that are still in good condition, such as dry cereals and snacks. The donated meals will undergo a separate collection, inspection, sorting, and storage process to ensure product quality before being transferred to VietHarvest.

Representatives from Vietnam Airlines and VietHarvest signed and exchanged a cooperation agreement, committing to creating a sustainable food consumption culture in Vietnam.
VietHarvest's model has been successfully implemented in many countries around the world , such as the UK (UKHarvest), New Zealand (KiwiHarvest), Japan (JapanHarvest), South Africa (SAHarvest), etc., and has received much support and commitment from major airlines such as Qantas, Virgin Atlantic, and Air New Zealand.
In Vietnam, this model is also considered very effective in linking with local businesses to collect free, unused, high-quality food suitable for consumption from hotels, food suppliers, large and small supermarket chains, and charitable organizations to support individuals in need.
Mr. Dang Anh Tuan, Head of Communications, Vietnam Airlines Vietnam Airlines stated: "We hope this initiative will make a practical contribution to environmental protection, reduce food waste, improve global food security, and provide access to quality food for disadvantaged communities. Through this program, Vietnam Airlines and VietHarvest aim to create a far-reaching impact, influencing our awareness of efficient food use to collectively protect the environment. In the future, Vietnam Airlines will continue to implement environmentally friendly activities, ensuring sustainable business operations to achieve a net-zero emission target by 2050."
Meanwhile, Jimmy Pham, co-founder of VietHarvest, emphasized: "The synergy with a leading and reputable brand in Vietnam's aviation sector, such as Vietnam Airlines, will help leverage and enhance VietHarvest's strengths in its mission to rescue wasted food, towards the United Nations' development goals of eradicating poverty and creating a sustainable food consumption culture in Vietnam."
The signing of this cooperation agreement affirms the pioneering role of Vietnam Airlines and VietHarvest in transforming aviation operations to reduce waste, improve food waste management, and create a sustainable food consumption culture in Vietnam. This is also one of the initiatives Vietnam Airlines is undertaking in the 2023 "Sustainable Flight" challenge launched by Skyteam, with the aim of widely communicating internationally the positive social values that this initiative brings.
