Vietnam Airlines will cooperate with agencies and partners in both countries to develop programs to promote new destinations in Vietnam to Chinese tourists.

Vietnam Airlines signed a memorandum of understanding for bilateral cooperation with Guangzhou Yuanzhilv Technology travel company.

At the "Vietnam Tourism Promotion Program" organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Chongqing (China) on November 8th, Vietnam Airlines signed a memorandum of understanding for bilateral cooperation with GuangZhou Yuanzhilv Technology travel company.

The signing ceremony of this memorandum of understanding took place in the presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and leaders and representatives from agencies, departments, and businesses of both countries.

The memorandum of understanding marks the commitment of both sides to attract nearly 300,000 tourists from China to Vietnam during the period 2024-2030, while also contributing to promoting Vietnam's image as an attractive destination for Chinese tourists.

According to the memorandum of understanding, Vietnam Airlines and Guangzhou Yuanzhilv Technology agreed to cooperate closely in many areas such as aviation services, marketing, exchange of experience on tourism development and new trends in destinations between the two countries. The two sides will also cooperate in organizing events in China to promote Vietnam as an attractive tourist destination in the region.

China has always been one of Vietnam's key tourism markets. In 2024, the Chinese market began to recover after a long period of impact from COVID-19. According to statistics from the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, the number of Chinese tourists visiting Vietnam in the first nine months of the year reached 2.7 million, a growth of 141.4% compared to the same period last year.

For Vietnam Airlines alone, the number of passengers transported to China in the first nine months of this year reached 483,000, 2.4 times higher than the same period in 2023. Currently, the airline operates 5 regular routes to China, including routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to major cities such as Guangzhou, Beijing, and Shanghai.

In the coming period, Vietnam National Airlines plans to continue increasing the frequency of scheduled flights, opening new routes, and increasing the use of wide-body aircraft to supplement capacity in the context of strong market demand growth.

In addition, the company will cooperate with agencies and partners in both countries to develop programs promoting new destinations in Vietnam to Chinese tourists, while also introducing potential destinations in China to Vietnamese people.
