Vinh Long: Implementing a program to promote and support people, businesses, and business households to use the national domain name ".vn"

On the morning of April 24, 2025, the Department of Science and Technology (KH&CN) of Vinh Long province coordinated with the Vietnam Internet Center, Ho Chi Minh City branch to organize a conference to deploy a program to promote and support people, businesses, and business households to use the national domain name ".vn" in Vinh Long province.

Attending and chairing the Conference were Ms. Doan Hong Hanh - Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Science and Technology; Mr. Do Quang Trung - Head of the Vietnam Internet Center branch in Ho Chi Minh City (VNNIC) and delegates representing: Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Education and Training, Department of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; leaders representing: Provincial Youth Union, Provincial Farmers' Association, Provincial Women's Union, Provincial Business Association, Provincial Young Entrepreneurs' Association, Provincial Women's Entrepreneurs' Association; leaders of People's Committees of districts/towns/cities; representatives of universities and colleges in the province.

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Ms. Doan Hong Hanh emphasized that on May 21, 2024, the Minister of Information and Communications signed and issued Decision No. 826/QD-BTTTT approving the "Program to promote and support people, businesses, and business households to have a reliable and safe online presence with digital services using the national domain name .vn in provinces and cities across the country in the period of 2024 - 2025", this is important content to promote the development of digital economy, digital citizens... in the province. To advise the Provincial People's Committee to quickly issue an implementation plan in Vinh Long province effectively. Especially in the current period, the science and technology sector is determined to put Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo into practice as soon as possible. Therefore, she hopes that at this Conference, VNNIC will deploy the contents in accordance with the actual situation and conditions of the province. At the same time, she requests relevant agencies, units and localities in the province to participate in giving opinions and discussing in promoting and supporting people, businesses, business households, students and pupils in ways to access a reliable and safe online presence with digital services in using the national domain name ".vn".

Here, the Conference heard an overview of the Online Presence Program with the national domain name ".vn", implementation methods, instructions for registration, use of the domain names "id.vn", "biz.vn" and accompanying digital services (website, email). In addition, delegates participated in giving comments on the draft Plan to implement the Program to promote and support people, businesses, and business households to have a reliable and safe online presence with digital services using the national domain name ".vn" in Vinh Long province and agreed on the KPI for registering the domain names "id.vn", "biz.vn" to ensure the implementation of the targets set out in the draft Plan.

Through the Conference, the drafting of the Plan to implement the program to promote and support people, businesses, and business households to use the national domain name ".vn" in Vinh Long province has basically been completed. In the coming time, the Department of Science and Technology will quickly synthesize and submit this draft Plan for the Provincial People's Committee to consider and promulgate in order to contribute to the early implementation of digital literacy programs, promote digital skills to people, businesses and business households, students, thereby creating conditions for access and effective use of digital tools, developing the digital economy, digital citizens, promoting comprehensive digital transformation in Vinh Long province./.
