Bach Khoa Innovation Competition Season 8 2025 (BKI 2025) recorded the highest number of registered projects ever with 189 projects , nearly 3 times the average of previous seasons. In total, over 8 seasons since 2018, the competition has attracted 646 projects with the participation of students from 48 high schools, students from 94 universities and 31 startup groups in Vietnam and internationally.

Not only a breakthrough in the number of projects, BKI 2025 marks a new step forward in international factors when receiving the support and response of many businesses, universities, foreign start-up communities, especially the presence of 18 teams from India, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Russia, UK, Myanmar, France, Japan, USA. Of which, 03 teams from Hong Kong, India and Indonesia entered the Start-up Final Round, supported with travel expenses to Vietnam (maximum 2 people/team) to directly interact and compete with the young start-up community. Vietnamese teams from Da Nang to the North are also covered for this expense (maximum 2 people/team).

This also contributes to demonstrating the efforts of the University of Technology in connecting the startup ecosystem nationwide and internationally . In addition to foreign teams, BKI 2025 recorded the participation of many bright faces from key high schools in the country such as High School for the Gifted - Vinh University, Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, High School for the Gifted - VNU-HCM, ...; major universities such as University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam-Germany University, University of Natural Sciences - VNU-HCM, University of Technology - Danang University, University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology Ho Chi Minh City, University of Transport Ho Chi Minh City. This is a favorable condition to enrich startup thinking, approach problems from many different contexts, creating a multi-dimensional learning environment for groups of candidates.

In addition, in order to create a bridge between academic theory and practical production and business activities, Bach Khoa Innovation also focuses on promoting the participation of partner enterprises by opening a new competition board in 2025 - the University - Enterprise (UI) competition board . In this competition board, enterprises will proactively propose challenges directly related to their field of operation, from which, the teams will propose appropriate technical solutions to solve. There are 02 partner enterprises, Malaya Glass Vietnam Company (O-IBJC) and Indefol Solar Joint Stock Company, participating in the UI board. O-IBJC proposed a solution for collecting recycled glass, while Indefol Solar sought new ideas on green hydrogen production.

For the Student category , this year, teams made their mark with outstanding topics on sustainable development and digital technology applications. In the field of biotechnology - environment - sustainable development, teams proposed many solutions such as preserving weevils-free rice, drinks from coffee husks, air odor filtration systems using coffee grounds and zeolite, collecting energy from speed bumps or the "rebirth" journey of jackfruit seeds into nutritious snack products, etc. In the AI - automation - digitalization topic group, many ideas were introduced such as warehouse inventory using AI-integrated drones, voice assistants for cars, digital prescription management, smart helmets, etc. Products rich in human factors such as AI to support mental health, AI assistants for the visually impaired or centralized learning platforms were also highly appreciated.

For the High School Students category , groups demonstrated their efforts to solve environmental problems with natural solutions through topics such as eco-friendly ink made from tomato peels, annatto jelly fermented from local agricultural products, or a carbon-circulating ecosystem from water hyacinth. Some topics related to AI - automation such as an alarm system integrating a vibration mechanism with a light and sound system for the hearing impaired, smart glasses that detect obstacles for the visually impaired, a thinking toy inspired by the folk game of O An Quan, an application serving Muslim tourists in Vietnam, etc. also made a strong impression.

In recent years, the High School Student Board has increasingly demonstrated its core role in the Bach Khoa Innovation competition by continuously bringing new, humane ideas, demonstrating a high spirit of response to scientific and technical research activities in particular and the STEM movement in general. This is also the important goal of the University of Technology in encouraging middle and high school students to participate in the competition, thereby helping them develop creative thinking, nurture their passion for the STEM field, prepare the necessary skills and knowledge to be ready to become young human resources in engineering technology in the future./.
