
At 4:47 a.m., the 115 Emergency Call Center located at Gia Dinh People's Hospital, branch 2 (former Saigon General Hospital) received a call reporting a fire at a house at 225 Tran Hung Dao, Cau Ong Lanh Ward. Immediately, two emergency teams from Gia Dinh People's Hospital and Ho Chi Minh City 115 Emergency Center arrived at the scene and took 6 victims to Gia Dinh People's Hospital, branch 2. There were 4 cases: LQA (born in 1997), D.TKH (born in 1985), D.KL (born in 2018), HKNN (born in 2023) who had cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest outside the hospital. Despite the active resuscitation by doctors from Gia Dinh People's Hospital and Children's Hospital 2, activating the artificial heart-lung system (ECMO), they did not survive due to their severe condition.
The remaining two cases, TTTL (born in 2004) and TTNK (born in 2007), were conscious and stable. After first aid, they were transferred to Gia Dinh People's Hospital, branch 1, for further monitoring and treatment.
Previously, at around 4am on December 5, a fire broke out on the first floor of a restaurant located at 225 Tran Hung Dao Street, Cau Ong Lanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. As soon as it was discovered, people nearby shouted and helped put out the fire but were unsuccessful. The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police, mobilized many specialized fire trucks, ladder trucks, and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene, deployed a firefighting team, and took 6 victims to the emergency room. By nearly 7am, the fire was completely extinguished. Currently, authorities are continuing to investigate the cause and estimate the damage.
