Promoting Vietnam - Romania friendly cooperation

On the afternoon of December 5, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO) solemnly held a meeting to celebrate the 107th anniversary of Romania's National Day (December 1, 1918 - December 1, 2025) and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Romania diplomatic relations (February 3, 1950 - February 3, 2025).

Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, Chairman of the Vietnam - Romania Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City, briefly informed about the development situation of Romania in recent years, emphasizing that the people of Ho Chi Minh City are happy with the socio -economic achievements that the Romanian people have achieved and believe that Romania will continue to overcome difficulties and achieve even greater achievements.

During 75 years of friendly cooperation, Romania has always helped and supported Vietnam in the cause of national liberation, national reunification as well as in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Romania has provided equipment and experts to help Vietnam develop the fields of construction, oil and gas, health , mining, railways, weapons, etc. In particular, Romania has trained more than 4,000 international students, postgraduates, interns for Vietnam, and many of them have later become good experts, managers, and leading engineers, who have made and are making worthy contributions to Vietnam.

According to Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, currently, in addition to political relations, the traditional friendship between the two countries continues to develop strongly in many fields, including politics, economics, education - training, tourism, culture and people-to-people exchange, contributing positively to the socio-economic development of each country. The Vietnam - Romania Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City pledges to continue to make more efforts to make practical contributions, to preserve and promote the solidarity and friendship between the people of Vietnam and Romania to develop and be sustainable forever.

At the meeting, Ms. Cristina Romila, Romanian Ambassador to Vietnam, shared that Vietnam is one of Romania's main partners in the Asia-Pacific region. The Romania-Vietnam relationship is a traditional bilateral relationship, based on the long-standing friendship between the two peoples and has been strengthened over time through solidarity and mutual support.

The year 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, marking important developments in bilateral relations, contributing to further deepening the friendship and trust between the Romanian and Vietnamese people. Romania and Vietnam are converging all the necessary conditions to strengthen cooperation, with a solid political and diplomatic foundation and based on mutual trust.

Thanking the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations for organizing the meaningful anniversary meeting, Ambassador Cristina Romila acknowledged and highly appreciated the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO) and the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam - Romania Friendship Association as pioneers in promoting bilateral relations and people-to-people diplomacy between Vietnam and Romania, contributing to strengthening and developing the friendship between the Romanian and Vietnamese people.
