Wenger, former Arsenal manager and FIFA's Director of Global Football Development, said: "England are one of the top candidates. They are always very close to the title and are just one step away from glory. They have the quality to win the title. But if you look at it objectively, France are the super candidates. The reason is very simple: they have more world- class strikers than any other team."

The French team with an impressive lineup of stars such as Kylian Mbappe, Marcus Thuram, Ousmane Dembele, Randal Kolo Muani, Hugo Ekitike or young talent Desire Doue are in the top seed group with England. This means the two teams can only meet if they both reach the final.

The Three Lions entered the tournament with impressive qualifying form, winning all 8 matches without conceding a goal. The team also has a star-studded squad with players in their prime, such as Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Cole Palmer and Declan Rice.

Football Association (FA) chief executive Mark Bullingham said team morale is high. However, the FA leader also admitted that the 2026 World Cup will be a big challenge for European teams due to the constant changes in climate, terrain and long travel distances.

England coach Thomas Tuchel arrived in the US on December 4 to prepare for the draw, scheduled to take place at 0:00 on December 6 (Vietnam time).

Football stadiums in Europe on fire On November 30, the match between IFK Norrkoping and Orgryte IS with a score of 0-0 in round 30 of the Swedish National Championship fell into chaos when the pitch caught fire due to flares thrown from the stands.
