Xuan Mai Commune: Carefully prepare conditions for the opening ceremony of the new school year

HNP - To prepare for the new school year, the People's Committee of Xuan Mai commune has conducted a comprehensive review of schools in the area, thereby having a specific plan for purchasing equipment, renovating and upgrading facilities, and arranging a team of teachers and staff to be ready to enter the new school year with enthusiasm and determination to excellently complete the tasks of the new school year.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Xuan Mai commune has 23 schools, including 07 secondary schools, 07 primary schools, 09 kindergartens with 16,039 students and 1,082 teachers and staff. The scale of the development of the school network at all levels has basically met the learning needs and aspirations of the children of the people in the commune.

As of June 2025, 12/18 public schools in the commune have met national standards, accounting for 66.67%. Ensuring facilities and equipment for teaching and learning in schools to meet teaching and learning requirements has always been a top priority for all levels and sectors; directing educational institutions in the commune to launch a movement to make their own teaching and learning aids. 100% of schools have done a good job of managing, using, designing, and maintaining facilities, teaching equipment and tools to ensure educational innovation according to the 2018 general education program. Library work and building national standard schools have received investment and are operating effectively. 14/14 schools have standard libraries, of which 5 schools have level 2 libraries, and 9 schools have level 1 library standards.

Continue to direct kindergartens to develop a library operation plan to serve children for the period 2023-2028 and the following years to ensure compliance with the regulations in Circular No. 16/2022/TT-BGDDT dated November 22, 2022 of the Ministry of Education and Training . Also in 2025, the commune will continue to renovate, build new, and repair 01 kindergarten, 02 primary schools, 02 secondary schools with a total cost of more than 240 billion VND. Direct the Department of Culture and Society to continue to survey needs, invest in projects and renovate and prevent degradation of schools in the commune according to the regulations on school facilities meeting national standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.

On the eve of the new school year 2025-2026, due to the impact of storm No. 5, on September 3, in Xuan Mai commune, there were 3 schools: Nam Phuong Tien Kindergarten, Nam Phuong Tien A Primary School, Nam Phuong Tien A Secondary School in Hanh Bo village, the road to the school was flooded. Faced with the above situation, the People's Committee of Xuan Mai commune has implemented many measures to direct schools to ensure absolute safety for administrators, teachers, and staff, and to strengthen propaganda so that parents pay attention to preparing learning equipment for their children to prepare for the new school year, and to regularly maintain contact between family and school.

Nam Phuong Tien Kindergarten prepares for the opening ceremony of the new school year

Teacher Do Thi Thanh Tam said: In the 2025-2026 school year, Nam Phuong Tien Kindergarten has over 275 students. Due to the impact of rain and flooding on some sections of the road to school, especially the road at the school gate, the school has prepared a plan to not hold the opening ceremony directly at the main location in Hanh Bo village, Nam Phuong Tien Kindergarten in Hanh Bo village, but the school's administrators, teachers, staff and students will perform the opening ceremony at the satellite school in Doi Mit village.

Also in the flooded area, teacher Kieu Thi Hoa - Principal of Nam Phuong Tien A Primary School shared: To ensure safety, closely following the direction of Xuan Mai commune on flood prevention work due to the circulation of storm No. 5, the school has been actively overcoming the consequences of flooding caused by storms. Assigning duty schedules to 100% of departments, teachers, and staff; strengthening inspection work, closely coordinating with departments and unions to prepare the best conditions to strive for students to go to school directly after the Opening Ceremony.

Principal of Nam Phuong Tien A Secondary School, Nguyen Van Thang, said: With 210 students, this will be a special opening ceremony for teachers and students of the school. According to the direction of Nam Phuong Tien A Secondary School and Nam Phuong Tien A Primary School (with a total of over 480 students), the Opening Ceremony will be held at the headquarters of the Commune Fatherland Front Party Committee (Doi Mit village). After the opening ceremony, the school will coordinate with the commune's and village's departments and organizations, and parents to conduct a general cleaning and disinfection to ensure safety for students to return to school in person.

With the close direction of the Party committees and authorities, all levels of education in Xuan Mai commune are eagerly preparing for the Opening Ceremony of the new school year. Although there are still difficulties in continuing to overcome the consequences of the circulation of storm No. 5 and the forest flood, with the participation of the entire political system, the joint efforts and consensus of all classes of people who always care for the education cause of the commune. I believe that every teacher and student at all levels will welcome the Opening Ceremony in a joyful atmosphere, determined to achieve many high achievements in the new school year, making Xuan Mai commune's education sector one of the bright spots in the quality of teaching and learning of the education sector of the capital Hanoi.
