In the 2025-2026 school year, Xuan Mai commune will have 23 schools, including 7 secondary schools, 7 primary schools, and 9 kindergartens, with 16,039 students and 1,082 administrators, teachers, and staff. The scale of development of the education network at all levels has basically met the learning needs and aspirations of the children of the people in the commune.
As of June 2025, 12 out of 18 public schools in the commune have met national standards, accounting for 66.67%. Ensuring adequate facilities and equipment for teaching and learning in schools is a top priority for all levels and sectors; educational institutions in the commune have been encouraged to create their own teaching aids. 100% of schools effectively manage, utilize, design, and maintain facilities and teaching equipment to ensure the implementation of educational reforms according to the 2018 general education program. Library work and the development of national standard schools have received significant investment and operate effectively; 14 out of 14 schools have libraries meeting national standards, including 5 schools with level 2 libraries and 9 schools with level 1 libraries.

Continue directing preschools to develop library activity plans to serve children for the period 2023-2028 and subsequent years, ensuring compliance with the guidelines in Circular No. 16/2022/TT-BGDĐT dated November 22, 2022, of the Ministry of Education and Training . Also in 2025, the commune will continue to renovate, build new, and repair one preschool, two primary schools, and two secondary schools with a total budget of over 240 billion VND. Direct the Department of Culture and Social Affairs to continue surveying needs, investing in projects, and renovating and preventing deterioration of schools in the commune according to the regulations on school facilities meeting national standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Ahead of the 2025-2026 school year, due to the influence of the remnants of Typhoon No. 5, as of September 3rd, three schools in Xuan Mai commune – Nam Phuong Tien Kindergarten, Nam Phuong Tien A Primary School, and Nam Phuong Tien A Secondary School in Hanh Bo village – experienced flooding on their access roads. In response to this situation, the Xuan Mai Commune People's Committee implemented several measures to ensure the absolute safety of school administrators, teachers, and staff. They also intensified efforts to raise awareness among parents about the importance of preparing learning materials for their children's new school year and maintained regular communication between families and schools.
Nam Phuong Tien Kindergarten prepares for the opening ceremony of the new school year.
Teacher Do Thi Thanh Tam said: "For the 2025-2026 school year, Nam Phuong Tien Kindergarten will have over 275 students. Due to the impact of rain and flooding on some sections of the road to the school, especially the road at the school gate, the school has prepared a plan to not hold the opening ceremony in person at the main campus in Hanh Bo village. Instead, the school's administrators, teachers, staff, and students will perform the opening ceremony at the branch school in Doi Mit village."
In the same flooded area, Ms. Kieu Thi Hoa, Principal of Nam Phuong Tien A Primary School, shared: "To ensure safety and closely follow the guidance of Xuan Mai commune on flood prevention and control due to the remnants of typhoon No. 5, the school has been actively working to overcome the consequences of flooding caused by the storm. We have assigned duty rosters to 100% of our staff, teachers, and employees; strengthened inspection work; and closely coordinated with relevant departments and organizations to prepare the best conditions so that students can return to school for in-person classes after the opening ceremony."

According to Nguyen Van Thang, Principal of Nam Phuong Tien A Secondary School: "With 210 students, this will be a special opening ceremony for the teachers and students of our school. Following instructions, Nam Phuong Tien A Secondary School and Nam Phuong Tien A Primary School (with a total of over 480 students) will hold their opening ceremony at the headquarters of the Fatherland Front Committee of the commune (Doi Mit village). After the opening ceremony, the school will coordinate with the commune and village authorities and parents to conduct a thorough cleaning and disinfection to ensure safety for students returning to school in person."

Under the close guidance of the Party committees and the government, schools at all levels in Xuan Mai commune are enthusiastically preparing for the opening ceremony of the new school year. Despite the difficulties of continuing to overcome the consequences of Typhoon No. 5 and the recent flash floods, with the involvement of the entire political system and the collective efforts and dedication of all sectors of the population, we believe that every teacher and student at all levels will welcome the opening ceremony with joy and determination to achieve many high accomplishments in the new school year, making Xuan Mai commune's education sector one of the shining examples of teaching and learning quality in Hanoi.
