
Quang Ninh has advantages in agricultural production with many typical agricultural products of high economic value and great potential for development such as: Mong Cai pig, Tien Yen chicken, yellow flower tea, Ba Che Morinda officinalis, sea worms, cockles... From 2021 to now, the province has invested nearly 130,000 billion VND in the agricultural and rural areas, mainly to complete infrastructure, support production facilities to invest in machinery, deep processing equipment, and apply new technologies.
To improve product quality and competitiveness in the market, the province has built a number of concentrated commodity production areas with a total area of about 6,358 hectares of rice, vegetables, and fruit trees (equivalent to more than 10,900 hectares of cultivated land); about 1,100 hectares of crops maintain production according to good agricultural production processes, of which 322.35 hectares have been granted VietGAP certificates; 90 hectares of rice, 329 hectares of cinnamon, 10 hectares of yellow camellia, 3 hectares of oranges, and 25 hectares of tea have been granted organic production certificates.
The province has 1 high-tech agricultural zone, covering an area of 106 hectares in Hoang Que ward and 50 high-tech production models. The area of net houses, greenhouses, and membrane houses serving crop production is over 19 hectares. The rate of mechanization in cultivation reaches over 80%; of which, tillage machines serving rice production cover nearly 100% of the area; for concentrated production areas, combine harvesters cover 100% of the area; threshing, milling, and rice husking machines cover 100% of the area.
The province has issued 75 growing area codes and 9 packaging facility codes to monitor and control agricultural product quality and trace their origin transparently, meeting the requirements of domestic and international markets, especially export markets.
Along with that, the whole province has planned 45,146 hectares of sea area with potential for aquaculture, of which 31,000 hectares are for organizations and individuals currently engaged in production and more than 14,000 hectares are for attracting large-scale investment. All coastal localities have completed plans and detailed maps of farming areas, gradually shifting from small-scale farming to concentrated, environmentally friendly commodity production. The Department of Agriculture and Environment has granted 41 licenses for marine aquaculture to organizations with a total licensed sea area of more than 4,150 hectares; communes, wards and special zones have assigned sea areas to 817 individuals with an area of over 503 hectares, reaching 100% of qualified records.

The province pays special attention to building and developing OCOP products with strong brands and high competitiveness in the market. The whole province has built and developed 432 OCOP products of 3 stars or higher (4 national 5-star products, 108 4-star products, 320 3-star products). The subjects participating in the OCOP program have promoted the application of 4.0 technology and carried out digital transformation in management, brand development, distribution, product marketing, e-commerce development, modern sales channels (supermarket systems, convenience stores, e-commerce trading floors...) to increase sales.
There are currently 28,125 establishments producing and trading agricultural, forestry and aquatic products in the province. To ensure food safety in the agricultural sector, the authorities have strengthened control over the origin of agricultural, forestry and aquatic products from production, preliminary processing, processing to consumption; strictly handled counterfeit, fake and poor quality goods; issued 1,006 certificates of establishments meeting food safety conditions; organized the signing of commitments to produce and trade safe food for 27,119 establishments.
Building a safe agricultural product brand helps products affirm their quality, enhance their reputation and have the ability to reach far in the national and international markets.
