BTO - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai has signed and issued an urgent document directing the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to address the damage caused by sand spills and landslides in Mui Ne ward.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Construction to take the lead and coordinate with the Phan Thiet City People's Committee to request Saigon Investment Co., Ltd. (the investor of the SentosaVilla project) to urgently mobilize manpower and equipment to khắc phục the consequences of the landslide caused by heavy rain and flooding in the early morning of May 21, 2024. At the same time, they are to implement long-term, effective measures to prevent landslides, and to allocate equipment and personnel during the rainy season to promptly handle landslides, ensuring the safety of transportation infrastructure, lives, and property of people in the area below the hill.

Focus on inspecting, urging, and supervising the remediation of landslides caused by heavy rains and floods, and the measures taken by the investor of the Sentosa Villa project to prevent and respond to landslide incidents.
During the implementation process, if the investor of the Sentosa Villa project is slow to rectify the situation, fails to fully comply with regulations, or violates the law, resulting in landslides, they will be strictly dealt with according to regulations.

Earlier, in the early morning of May 21st, heavy rain caused mudslides at the Sentosa Villa project site in Mui Ne ward, owned by Saigon Investment Co., Ltd., resulting in traffic congestion, property damage, and a significant risk to people's lives. After inspection, the Department of Construction concluded that the Sentosa project had not complied with regulations on disaster prevention and control during its construction.
