Quickly handle the deep hole that appeared on National Highway 51 causing traffic safety problems

After receiving information about a hole about 1 meter deep appearing on National Highway 51 through Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, Road Management Area IV mobilized workers to immediately fix the problem so that people could travel safely.

On February 19, according to the reflection of many residents and drivers traveling on National Highway 51 through My Xuan ward, Phu My town, a deep hole appeared right on the road surface, causing traffic safety problems.

According to the reporter of Giao thong Newspaper, this hole is 50x50cm wide, 1m deep, located on the car traffic road near the Ngoc Ha traffic light intersection in the direction from Ba Ria - Vung Tau to Dong Nai . Fearing that vehicles would fall into the hole, local people brought styrofoam boxes with warning ropes.

According to the representative of Road Management Area IV, after receiving the information, the unit directly managing the route recorded the actual situation and mobilized workers to repair and fix the problem to ensure the safety of people. The repair work was carried out by filling the deep hole with stone and hot asphalt materials.

"The cause of the deep hole may be due to the impact of weather and heavy vehicle loads. The unit will continue to inspect and maintain the road to ensure safety for people. Tomorrow we will invite the investor of the drainage project in the area and related units to coordinate to find the specific cause to thoroughly handle the deep hole", Mr. Kieu Vu Hiep, Head of Road Management Office IV.2 (Road Management Area IV, Vietnam Road Administration) informed.

QL51 is a vital route connecting Dong Nai and many other provinces to Ba Ria - Vung Tau and vice versa. In recent times, this national highway has seriously degraded, with many ruts and potholes appearing.

Under the pressure of more than 60,000 vehicles passing through each day, many times more than the original design, and many heavy trucks, the road surface has many potholes, ruts, cracks, causing traffic safety problems.
