Xuan Thanh receives certificate of recognition as a model new rural commune

Thanks to the efforts of the entire political system and the unanimous support of the people, Xuan Thanh commune (Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province) has been recognized as the first model new rural commune in the district.

On the afternoon of May 20th, Xuan Thanh commune (Nghi Xuan district) held a ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing it as a model new rural commune. Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, Nguyen Hai Nam, also attended.

Chairman of Xuan Thanh Commune People's Committee Tran Quoc Anh reported on the results of the New Rural Development program from 2012 to 2022.

Recognizing that building new rural areas is a continuous goal with no end point, Xuan Thanh commune has been implementing solutions decisively and comprehensively with proactive and creative approaches.

Immediately after achieving the advanced new rural commune standard in 2019, the Party Committee, government, and people of Xuan Thanh commune are determined to continue maintaining and improving the quality of the criteria, striving to build a model new rural commune.

The total investment resources for the 10-year rural development program in the commune reached 380.87 billion VND. Of this, 105.21 billion VND came from contributions from the people; 1.2 billion VND from sponsoring units and businesses; and 3.1 billion VND from public donations...

In particular, over the past 10 years, the people have donated 47,136 ^m² of land and contributed 198,511 man-days of labor to construct and expand rural roads, with a total value of 77 billion VND. As a result, the entire commune has built more than 57 km of new rural roads, facilitating travel for residents and promoting economic development.

The commune of Xuân Thành pays special attention to economic development and increasing people's income. The current average per capita income is 52.06 million VND/person/year; there are no longer any poor households in the commune.

The economy has developed diversely and shifted strongly towards the rapid growth of industries, tourism , and commercial services. The entire commune has established 40 economic models; 3 cooperatives, 2 cooperative groups, and 16 successful businesses.

The initiative to build model residential areas and model gardens has spread throughout the consciousness of each citizen, gradually transforming these residential areas into livable rural communities. Currently, all 10 villages in the commune have met the standards for model residential areas, and 22 gardens have met the 5 criteria for model gardens.

Education and training have received attention, and the quality of teaching and learning has been continuously improved. To date, all three schools in the commune have met national standards. The health station has been invested in and built to a high standard; primary healthcare for the people is well taken care of. Security and social order are ensured.

Xuan Thanh commune honored 34 collectives and individuals for their outstanding achievements in building new rural areas during the period 2012 - 2022.

Thanks to the efforts and determination of the entire political system and the unity and cooperation of all the people, in 2021, Xuan Thanh commune completed all 16/16 targets of the 6 criteria for a model commune. On July 1, 2022, the Provincial People's Committee recognized Xuan Thanh commune as a model new rural commune in 2021, the first model new rural commune in Nghi Xuan district.

In the coming period, Xuan Thanh commune will continue to focus on completing and improving the quality of model residential area criteria and model commune criteria, ensuring they are substantive, in-depth, and sustainable, contributing to the commune's early achievement of Type IV urban status.
