A crack longer than 100m appeared, La Dee commune issued an urgent notice.

DNO - On November 4, Mr. Bui The Anh, Chairman of the People's Committee of La Dee commune, said that the local government had just issued an urgent notice, requesting forces to be ready to evacuate people from areas at risk of landslides when ordered.

Previously, on the evening of November 3 , local authorities received information from people in Dac Rich village that while checking the acacia hill, people discovered a long crack on the top of the mountain , located right above the residential area, which was very dangerous and had a high risk of landslides .

Immediately afterwards, La Dee commune authorities sent forces to survey the field, specifically inspect the crack to urgently have a treatment plan .

At the scene, the large crack stretched over 100m, causing the ground to sink to a depth of over 1m. At the foot of the mountain is a residential area with nearly 20 households living.

"This area is very dangerous, because with just one more heavy rain, the land mass can slide at any time, causing serious consequences. People compare this place to a "water bomb" hanging over their heads," said Mr. Bui The Anh.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of La Dee Commune said that previously, a small crack had appeared at this location; after the recent prolonged heavy rain, people discovered that the crack had widened and the land showed signs of serious subsidence.

Concerns are that mud flows have appeared at the foot of the hill, forming a large mud pit, indicating a very high risk of landslides.

Currently, the commune government has assigned militia, police and village officials to be on duty 24/7; cordoned off and posted warning signs in dangerous areas; and prepared safe temporary shelters to be ready to evacuate households when ordered.
