Vietnam's merchandise trade balance in the first seven months of 2025 showed a surplus of US$10.20 billion.According to data from the Customs Department, the total value of goods exports and imports in July 2025 reached US$82.29 billion, an increase of 8% (equivalent to an increase of US$6.10 billion) compared to the previous month.
Specifically, exports reached $42.29 billion, an increase of 7% (an increase of $2.76 billion), and imports reached $40 billion, an increase of 9.1% (an increase of $3.34 billion).
The merchandise trade balance showed a surplus of $2.29 billion, down 20% from $2.86 billion in June.
Overall, in the first seven months of 2025, the total value of goods exports and imports reached US$514.72 billion, an increase of 16.3% (equivalent to an increase of US$72.27 billion) compared to the same period in 2024.
Specifically, exports reached $262.46 billion, an increase of 14.8% (an increase of $33.92 billion), and imports reached $252.26 billion, an increase of 17.9% (an increase of $38.35 billion).
The trade balance for goods in the first seven months showed a surplus of $10.20 billion, a decrease of 30.3% compared to the surplus of $14.64 billion in the same period last year.
Regarding state budget revenue from import and export activities, in July 2025 it reached 38,121 billion VND, a decrease of 2.7% compared to the previous month.
Cumulative revenue from the beginning of the year to July 31, 2025 reached VND 261,376 billion, equivalent to 63.6% of the projected budget and 55.6% of the target, an increase of 9.1% compared to the same period in 2024.
