We appreciate and honor the achievements and lessons that the press during the Renovation period has created, which has deepened the functions, tasks, principles and purposes of revolutionary journalism with Party spirit, people spirit, science, democracy and humanity; demonstrated the level, capacity, thinking on press management and practice, professional capacity and professional ethics of journalists; at the same time, we respectfully thank all classes of people who have protected, sheltered, helped, encouraged, motivated and accompanied the press agencies and revolutionary journalists over the past 100 years.

The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission emphasized that the press is making strong changes in the organization of the apparatus, personnel structure, digital transformation, journalistic thinking, development of journalism types, journalism economics, journalism technology; paying more attention to the journalism ecosystem and the role of the press public and public opinion. Many journalistic works discover, encourage, and contribute to the replication of new factors, advanced models, good people and good deeds; analyze and criticize society, contributing to the construction, supplementation, and improvement of mechanisms, policies, and laws; persistently and courageously fight against corruption, waste, and negativity; participate in building a clean and strong Party and political system; actively and proactively protect the Party's ideological foundation, fight against and refute false and hostile information and arguments; attach importance to foreign information, protect the sovereignty of the sacred borders and islands of the Fatherland.

"Reaching the threshold of 100 years is not only a glorious tradition, a revolutionary mark, a proud past story, but also the position and appearance of a press with nearly 800 press agencies and a team of 41,000 journalists with professional expertise, steadfast character, mastering modern press technology, being the country's key press agencies, press agencies trusted by the public and reaching regional and international levels," Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia affirmed.

The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission emphasized that our country is standing on the threshold of a new development stage, with opportunities and challenges intertwined. Revolutionary journalism is facing turning-point, breakthrough changes.

The goals, tasks, and strategic solutions that the entire Party, people, army, and political system are determined to carry out to bring the country steadily forward in the new era are the topics, goals, and tasks of press agencies and journalists.

That context and goal require each press agency and journalist nationwide, first of all, to renew their thinking, awareness and practical actions so that the press becomes more revolutionary, more professional, more modern, more humane, worthy of the glorious tradition of 100 years of building, fighting and growing of the Vietnamese revolutionary press.

Our Party and State always affirm that: Vietnamese revolutionary press is an inseparable part of the entire ideological and cultural work of the Party, of the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Our press takes the interests of the nation, the people, the happiness and prosperity of the people as the ultimate goal, all for a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization.

Emphasizing that every revolution starts with changing production methods, workforce, productivity, quality and work efficiency; the challenge of digital transformation creates great pressure, even fierce pressure on the press, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department affirmed: "Traditional journalism values still need to be nurtured, promoted and fueled alongside modern information transmission methods and platforms. Artificial intelligence cannot replace the mettle, character, soul and commitment to the community of journalism. Technology gives journalism a new breath, a new look, a new way of working, but it cannot replace thinking, personalization, stylization, for people, for people and the community."

Accordingly, the new era, the new revolutionary period requires new, advanced, humane methods of information, knowledge, and thinking, which revolutionary press must undertake. The press public not only needs to provide fast, attractive information but also needs accuracy, humanity, verification, orientation, analysis, commentary, constructive solutions, and multi-dimensional forecasts.

The old way of thinking that has allowed press agencies to survive for a long time needs to change to create new development momentum. Technology platforms and digital transformation revolution will fundamentally change the way the press works. Every international movement is organically linked to domestic life, when cyberspace is limitless, the nation is linked to the region and the world, in the integration and connection, identity, individuality, and uniqueness are the values that are needed in the human community.

The press informs and propagates policies and guidelines, but also needs to be courageous and responsible in debating and exchanging to move towards the truth and the good cultural values of the nation; towards Truth, Goodness, and Beauty; to resolutely fight against evil, degradation, manifestations of corruption, waste, and negativity. That vivid reality requires every journalist, every editorial office, every local or central association to change and improve themselves.

Emphasizing that the 100-year journey of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press has marked the efforts, achievements, lessons, challenges, ups and downs, and aspirations to move forward, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission affirmed that over the past century, the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press has always been steadfast, loyal, and devoted to the noble revolutionary cause of the Party, the nation, and the people.

We will embark on the next 100-year journey with great aspirations, determination and efforts to excellently fulfill the role and mission entrusted to us by the Party, the State and the people, contributing to bringing the country into a new era, for a Vietnam of "peace, independence, democracy, wealth, prosperity, civilization, happiness, firmly advancing towards socialism", standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers, as President Ho Chi Minh wished and the burning aspiration of the entire nation.

Journalist Ta Ngoc Tan said that the 100-year history of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism is something to be proud of, but it is also a reminder of a future vision for revolutionary journalism in the new era of national development.

In that general context, the issue is that our press must make the best use of favorable opportunities, overcome difficulties and challenges, fulfill its mission before the Party and the people, and contribute to bringing our country to the goal of 100 years of founding and beyond.

Journalist Ta Ngoc Tan said, if the tradition and characteristics of revolutionary journalism are dynamism, creativity, and pioneering in life, now is the time for journalists to demonstrate that spirit in digital transformation, professional working methods, and organizational apparatus, management, and operation of journalism activities, adapting as quickly as possible to actual conditions, and responding most positively to the requirements of the revolutionary cause.

From a clear and correct awareness, the revolutionary press needs to innovate comprehensively, synchronously, and revolutionaryly in terms of content, operating methods, production technology, and means of transmitting messages. Each press agency and each journalist must be proactive and creative, proactive in solving organizational and employment issues.

From the lessons learned about the role of our country's revolutionary press and the world's revolution over the past 100 years, Journalist Ta Ngoc Tan hopes that the Party, the State, localities, and sectors will continue to pay attention, lead, and direct to have long-term, consistent strategic decisions to develop our country's press to become increasingly powerful, humane, professional, modern, and truly an effective tool in organizing the construction and development of the country, a sharp weapon to protect the country, the regime, the Party, and the people.

Expressing deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh and previous generations of journalists who opened up and created the glorious history of 100 years of Revolutionary Journalism, Journalist Ta Ngoc Tan sent his trust to those who are continuing the revolutionary journalism career with the hope that the country's journalism will develop more brilliantly, making greater contributions to the cause of building the country, protecting the Fatherland and for the happiness of the people.

On behalf of the young generation of journalists, Journalist Nguyen Thi Ngan, Social Affairs Reporter, News Department, Vietnam Television shared that in 100 years of journalism accompanying the country, young journalists have only traveled a very short distance, but those were truly the most beautiful days of youth when they were able to go towards the people, listen to the people's sharing; thereby reflecting the real life, becoming a bridge between the people and the Party committees and authorities.

After each trip, through each journalistic work, each journalist has more love for the profession and more faith in the path that he and many generations of revolutionary journalists have been and are taking. From islands, borders, or places with natural disasters, at any time..., journalists always want to be by the people's side when they need them.

"The more journalists get into the vivid reality and connect with the people, the more they understand that the most valuable thing is to have and maintain the people's trust in journalists, journalism, and more deeply, the people's trust in the Party and the State," said journalist Nguyen Thi Ngan.

Sharing unforgettable memories while working, Journalist Nguyen Thi Ngan emphasized that today's generation of young journalists will certainly continue on the glorious and beautiful journey of journalism; hoping that previous generations of journalists will trust in the younger generations of journalists. The journey ahead of many journalists may have challenges and difficulties, and may even take a different path..., but the spirit of "pure heart, sharp pen" in any circumstance, any path will always shine bright to be kind and devoted to the profession and to people.

At the Ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary To Lam awarded the Ho Chi Minh Medal to the Vietnam Revolutionary Press for its many contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented the Medal of Gratitude to the outstanding contributions of veteran journalists - those who have made many contributions to the cause of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism Day.
