100 scholarships waiting to support poor new students in Quang Nam

These scholarships will provide support to 100 underprivileged new university students from Quang Nam province for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year. The handover ceremony took place at the Tuoi Tre newspaper office.

Editor-in-chief of Tuoi Tre newspaper, Le The Chu, accepted the first donation for this year's "Supporting Students to School" scholarship program on behalf of the newspaper.

Mr. Pham Phu Tam, head of the Quang Nam - Da Nang School Support Club, shared that although the club members are facing difficulties in many aspects, the number of scholarships will remain unchanged compared to previous years.

Mr. Tâm likened the club to a relay station on a race track, and each scholarship to a bottle of water given to the student "athletes" at the right time and in the right place.

"If we don't provide timely support, I think some students might have to stop their studies and won't be able to go to school," Mr. Tam worried.

Mr. Tam happily shared that, to date, the club, through Tuoi Tre newspaper, has supported 2,194 underprivileged new university students with a total scholarship amount of over 23 billion VND.

Besides providing scholarships, many club members also sponsor, support living expenses, transportation, and job placement for new students from out of town who receive scholarships from the program.

This year, the 1.5 billion VND allocated is equivalent to 100 scholarships (15 million VND per scholarship), prioritized for underprivileged new university students in Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province. The scholarship awarding ceremony is expected to be held in September in Hoi An City (Quang Nam Province).

Editor-in-chief of Tuoi Tre newspaper, Le The Chu, acknowledged the very active support of the Quang Nam - Da Nang School Support Club for the newspaper's School Support scholarship program over the past period. Thanks to this, timely assistance has been provided, creating many opportunities for poor new university students in Quang Nam to continue their education and change their lives.

"Over the past 19 years, the Quang Nam - Da Nang School Support Club has made significant contributions to the program. These contributions are a great source of encouragement and motivation for us to continue implementing this program," Mr. Chu said.
