At least 16 people died and six were injured in a wastewater treatment plant in Uttarakhand state, suspected to be due to electrocution.
Dhan Singh Rawat, head of health services in Uttarakhand state, northern India, said a security guard was electrocuted at around 11:30 today while on duty at a wastewater treatment plant in Chamoli district. When local people gathered there, they touched the electrified metal fence and were also electrocuted.
