The Elderly Singing Festival of Northern Provinces and Cities, held in Ha Tinh , is an opportunity for participating groups to exchange ideas, learn from each other, and promote their local culture; contributing to improving the spiritual lives and encouraging the elderly to live happily, healthily, and productively.
On the morning of September 29th, the opening ceremony of the 2023 Elderly Singing Festival of Northern provinces and cities took place at the Ha Tinh Provincial Cultural and Film Center. Attending the ceremony were: Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of Elderly People Nguyen Thanh Binh and Vice Chairmen: Truong Xuan Cu, Phan Van Hung; delegates from central ministries and agencies, and elderly associations from provinces and cities in the North. The 2023 Northern Provinces and Cities Regional Elderly Singing Festival is a large-scale mass performing arts program with the participation of over 400 performers and members from 26 troupes in the region.
Mr. Truong Xuan Cu, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of Elderly People, delivered the opening speech at the festival.
During the 2 days of the festival (September 29-30), the groups will bring nearly 80 performances of many genres, which have been carefully rehearsed and staged, focusing on main contents such as praising the Party, Uncle Ho, love for the homeland and country, praising the fine traditions of the elderly in Vietnam...
Held in Ha Tinh – a land rich in revolutionary traditions and cultural identity – the program will be a meaningful and vibrant platform for elderly folk art troupes to gather and express their passion for art.
Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of Elderly People Nguyen Thanh Binh and Secretary of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee Hoang Trung Dung presented commemorative flags to the delegations participating in the festival.
At the same time, it is an opportunity for delegations to interact, connect, and learn from each other, contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual lives of the elderly, and encouraging them to live happily, healthily, and contentedly.
The festival also affirmed the effectiveness and widespread impact of the mass arts and culture movement within the Elderly Association at all levels, thereby discovering and developing key individuals to form the core of the local cultural and arts movement.

This is also an opportunity to commend and honor outstanding collectives and individuals in the mass arts and culture movement of the elderly in the locality, contributing to building new rural areas and civilized urban areas; effectively implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party on the orientation of cultural development in the new period.
According to the program, the teams' competitions will take place on September 29th and the morning of September 30th; the closing ceremony, awards presentation, and launch of the 2023 Action Month for Vietnamese Elderly will be held on the evening of September 30th.
