A traditional education program for youth union members through historical events with the same 60-year milestone: hero Nguyen Van Troi was assigned to plant mines on Cong Ly bridge, Venezuelan guerrillas kidnapped the US military attaché and fought for Nguyen Van Troi's freedom, and People's Armed Forces Hero - martyr Nguyen Van Troi sacrificed his life (October 15).
"His words echo forever" with the young generation
Each story reminds young people of the struggle movement of generations of youth during the resistance war, the tradition of young workers. Thereby, it arouses the pride and responsibility of the city's young generation to join in the labor competition, to be creative and to affirm the role of the working class in the new era.
Interwoven between the story and the guests are songs from the time of the passionate struggle of youth, songs written about the hero Nguyen Van Troi.
Former Vice President Truong My Hoa, along with Ms. Truong My Le (permanent deputy head of the City Youth Union Traditional Club) and Mr. Pham Xuan Binh - deputy head of the City Youth Union Traditional Club - told many stories about Ms. Phan Thi Quyen (Mr. Troi's wife) and the days of struggle of Saigon students at that time.
It can be said that the life and revolutionary career of the hero Nguyen Van Troi, though short, was complete because "He lived a life as bright as the sun, he lived his beautiful youth amidst the smoke and fire that forged him into steel."
Ms. Truong My Le recalled: "After Nguyen Van Troi sacrificed, the struggle movement did not waver but grew more and more, contributing to the victory in the spring of 1975."

Be ready to volunteer anytime, anywhere
Also present at the event was musician Xuan Nghia. Besides having many compositions relevant to youth, he is also a prominent figure in many volunteer activities.
It was those trips that inspired him to compose many songs about the volunteer movement of the youth in Ho Chi Minh City.
He talked about his volunteer journey in Laos, sang a song he composed and shared: "Let's volunteer anytime, anywhere."
While Le Duc Anh, a young exemplary citizen of Ho Chi Minh City – secretary of the Youth Union and deputy director of the food processing factory (Cholimex Food Joint Stock Company) – expressed his appreciation for listening to the experiences of his predecessors, he reflected more deeply on the sense of responsibility of today's youth.
"The reality demands that we make greater efforts, be more proactive, and more creative in order to solve the difficult problems within the unit," Duc Anh said.

The story of the heroic sacrifice of this young hero, an indomitable symbol of the city's workers, though 60 years old, continues to inspire and spread the flame of tradition, fostering patriotism and a spirit of dedication to the community in today's young generation.
That is also a message of responsibility for every young person today, and also a mission to continue writing glorious history to build a peaceful , happy and prosperous country.
