The competition brought together 7 teams from women's associations, farmers' associations, and youth unions of the villages of Phiêng Lơi, Co Củ, Kê Nênh, Púng Tôm, and Na Lơi; each team consisting of 3-5 members. These were all representatives knowledgeable about traditional culinary culture and experienced in preparing characteristic dishes of their ethnic groups.

The competition consisted of three parts: food presentation, beverage presentation, and explanation. Within 1 hour and 30 minutes, teams used available ingredients to prepare five main dishes reflecting the unique ethnic identity, along with additional side dishes to complete a traditional feast, sufficient for 8-10 people. From the flavors of mắc khén and hạt dổi (a type of spice), to grilled and steamed dishes, various colored sticky rice dishes, smoked buffalo meat, and stream fish, everything was vividly and attractively recreated, offering viewers a complete experience of Northwest Vietnamese culinary culture, especially the cuisine of the Thái ethnic group.

Through this competition, Dien Bien Phu ward aims to introduce, honor, and promote the rich culinary beauty of the ethnic minorities; encourage the community to preserve cooking secrets and improve service skills for tourists. This activity also contributes to enriching the community tourism products of Phieng Loi, creating a highlight to attract tourists, and promoting sustainable local tourism development.

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the teams with outstanding performances. The first prize went to the Women's Association of Phiêng Lơi village for their beautifully presented and harmoniously flavored food tray and compelling presentation.
