Ninety underprivileged new university students in the Central Highlands, who have shown great determination to excel in their studies, have been awarded scholarships totaling 1.3 billion VND as part of the "Supporting Students to School" program.
On the morning of October 27th, in Da Lat City, Tuoi Tre Newspaper, in coordination with the Youth Unions of five provinces (Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, and Kon Tum) , organized the "Supporting Students to School" scholarship awarding ceremony for 90 disadvantaged new university students under the theme "Nurturing Green Seeds of the Highlands".
Representatives of the organizing committee, leaders of Lam Dong province, and sponsors presented "support for schooling" scholarships to new university students.
These scholarships are awarded by the organizing committee to new students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have shown determination to overcome difficulties in life and studies. This also serves as a great motivation for students to strive harder in the future.
According to the organizing committee, the Central Highlands is the eighth location to receive scholarships in the 2024 "Supporting Students to School" scholarship program for new university students, under the 597th "For a Developed Tomorrow" program of Tuoi Tre Newspaper.
Journalist Le Xuan Trung - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper, delivered a speech at the scholarship awarding ceremony.
Speaking at the scholarship awarding ceremony, journalist Le Xuan Trung, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper, said: "The stories of the students' resilience and academic efforts, published in the newspapers, have further motivated and inspired the community with their studious spirit and determination to succeed, even at such a young age."
"Your success is the success of this scholarship program and also a very meaningful thank you to the sponsors and benefactors who have been involved with the program for decades."
Mr. Le Viet Thuan, General Director of Binh Dien Lam Dong Joint Stock Company, awarded two special scholarships and computers to new university students.
At the program, 90 new students from the Central Highlands provinces of Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Dak Nong , Gia Lai, and Kon Tum received scholarships worth 1.3 billion VND. Each scholarship was worth 15 million VND in cash. This included two special scholarships worth 50 million VND each for four years of study, and four laptops for particularly disadvantaged students lacking necessary learning equipment.
Many people in the auditorium were deeply moved by the stories of the new students overcoming adversity.
These scholarships are sponsored by the Farmers' Support Fund - Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam, and Viet Nhat Fertilizer Company.
