Ba Ria - Vung Tau: Long Dien District leaders go to fishing port to give gifts to fishermen going offshore

On February 14th and 15th, the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Long Dien District ( Ba Ria - Vung Tau ) visited fishing ports to inquire about and encourage fishermen to go out to sea at the beginning of the year.

At Phuong Vy fishing port (Phuoc Hung commune), Mr. Lam Van Hong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Long Dien District, presented gifts to the captains and fishermen. The leaders of the People's Committee of Long Dien District wished the captains and fishermen a safe and successful voyage and a bountiful catch.

Setting sail at the beginning of the year, Phuong Vy fishing port has nearly 20 fishing vessels with a capacity of 900-1,200 horsepower, along with 300 captains and crew members. Encouraged by the district leaders and receiving gifts and lucky money for the new year, the captains and fishermen expressed their joy.

At Tan Phuoc fishing port (Phuoc Tinh commune), Mr. Le Huu Hien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Long Dien District, visited and presented gifts to captains and fishermen preparing to board ships for departure. More than 40 boats with a capacity of 250 horsepower or more were scheduled to depart on February 15th. The boats had fully prepared fuel and supplies, ready to set sail.

The leaders of the Long Dien District People's Committee reminded captains and fishermen that during their voyages at sea, they must always maintain close communication with the mainland, strictly comply with international laws and Vietnamese laws on marine resource exploitation, especially combating illegal fishing.
