Dr. Nguyen Duy Lich, Chairman and CEO of Enzyme Technology Group Joint Stock Company - Chairman of Enzyme VN Joint Stock Company, proudly shared about his brainchild, conceived over 10 years with his colleagues.

Creating products to care for people.

As a doctor who graduated from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, after spending time in the medical profession treating patients, Mr. Lich chose a different path. Instead of directly treating patients, he started a business creating healthcare products for the public.

Driven by his own experience, as well as that of many around him, of recurring back acne and the costly treatment it caused, Mr. Lich decided to start his own business, creating a probiotic product from fruits to treat back acne and folliculitis.

After achieving success with bio-cosmetic products, this young doctor switched to making enzyme drinks. In particular, Dr. Lich and his team successfully researched SBO technology to produce enzyme drinks, allowing nutrients to be absorbed and act very quickly on the body. The company's enzyme drinks meet FDA, HACCP, and GMP standards for safety and gentleness.

Currently, his company produces and sells two product lines: cosmetics and enzyme drinks made from Vietnamese fruits and herbs. The products are not only sold domestically but also exported to many markets.

From being a doctor to starting a bio-cosmetic company and now owning the Enzyme Technology Group in Vietnam, it has been a challenging and arduous journey. But thanks to mastering the technology, Mr. Lich and his company have steadily created quality products that bring great value to people.

Mr. Lich shared: "Our products support the treatment and prevention of cancer, and chronic non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and bone and joint diseases... Enzymes are very important; you can think of it simply as the body being like a phone, and enzymes are the charger. A phone without a battery cannot be used. Similarly, without enzymes, there is no life in the body."

15 years for the aspiration of a billion-dollar enterprise.

What Mr. Lich is most proud of is creating products that protect the health of himself, his family, and society. "Besides that, our products have many advantages, solving the problem of agricultural products for farmers. Instead of exporting raw materials as before, we now have the technology to process them into valuable finished products for export," Mr. Lich said, adding: "Besides happiness, there is also pride. We are building core values for the company, and we are very proud to have created a great product that serves the nation – a product bearing a Vietnamese brand."

Mr. Lich's goal for the next two years is to open another factory in Australia and expand the market to Europe. With the existing technological foundation, his ambition is to achieve his 15-year goal of becoming a billion-dollar enterprise.

Looking at the journey Mr. Lich has taken, many people will wonder why he switched from being a doctor to an entrepreneur. For him, studying to be a doctor and then transitioning into business was a passion, as well as a foundation and a competitive advantage.

Mr. Lich explained: "The industry I'm starting my business in is proactive healthcare for people. Studying to be a doctor was the foundation for choosing the products I'm currently selling. And proactive healthcare is also a trend of the present and the future. Thanks to studying medicine, I have the knowledge to determine what to research, build strategies to create products that meet market needs…"

Initially, choosing to study medicine was a family-driven decision, but during his studies, Lich realized he was more passionate about business. From then on, he proactively pursued a parallel degree in business administration, as well as other management programs, nurturing his dream of starting his own business.

Lich's entrepreneurial story has impressed many young people. Offering advice to young people, he frankly stated: "Before wanting to start a business or become your own boss, you need a few years of working for a salary. During that time, you should approach bosses to learn leadership thinking. Because you can make money from an empty pocket, but you can't make a lot of money from an empty head."

Mr. Lich added: "I've witnessed many young people starting businesses but failing because sometimes they have financial support from their families but lack experience, knowledge, and expertise. Starting a business isn't just about having a lot of money; what's important is having the necessary knowledge, experience, and dedicated partners."

During his university studies, Mr. Lich worked part-time, assisting clinic directors, etc., to learn the mindset of an entrepreneur. There were times he accepted unpaid work just to gain experience. Despite a very demanding study schedule, he still managed to find time to work. He chose weekends and after-school hours. For him, learning the mindset of an entrepreneur is crucial before starting a business.

Ms. Le Thi Hong Ket, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and President of the Vietnam Youth Union in Long An province, said: "I myself have used the company's products to treat back acne and prevent rashes in children; Noni enzyme from the noni fruit is also a very good product to support treatment of digestive and intestinal problems, and most recently, my family has also given my parents VINATTO Enzyme to support and prevent stroke. I can say that because my family and I have directly used the products, we can see the effectiveness very clearly."

Ms. Ket also mentioned that Mr. Lich had won first prize twice in a row in the Long An province's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. After winning, he joined the Provincial Investment and Entrepreneurship Club and the Long An Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association, giving him more opportunities to introduce his products more widely. He also regularly supports the local community in activities such as giving gifts to people in difficult circumstances, contributing to social welfare.
