During this year's September 2nd holiday, thousands of tourists from all over flocked to Vung Tau to have fun and swim in the sea. Many were surprised by the transformation of Bai Sau beach, with the entire area being "returned" to its rightful place for locals and tourists.

The Thuy Van road renovation project, previously invested in by the Vung Tau City People's Committee, commenced in October 2024 on a 19.2-hectare plot of land, stretching 3.2 km along Thuy Van road, and includes 12 main components and a central square.

To implement the project, the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau (formerly) reclaimed more than 28 hectares along the Bai Sau beach, land previously allocated to businesses. The reclamation and project implementation process also faced many difficulties due to disagreements with the businesses leasing the land, as well as the reluctance of some businesses to voluntarily hand over the land. However, the People's Committee of Vung Tau City remained determined to proceed with the project.

The project, with a total investment of nearly 1,100 billion VND, includes items such as sidewalks, trees, drainage, public service stations, and check-in areas, all of which have been completed and put into use.

The entire sidewalk is paved with uniform stone, and the artistic lighting system and greenery are arranged in a modern way, creating a spacious area for strolling and enjoying the sea view. Underground infrastructure and drainage systems have also been invested in.

In addition, all beachfront services such as sun loungers, food and beverage outlets, and parking have been reorganized, replacing the messy and chaotic scene that had existed for many years.

After renovation, the entire Back Beach area now has 6 public service stations with nearly 1,000 private toilets, showers, and communal showers.

Visitors can freely enjoy freshwater showers and restroom facilities after swimming in the sea. A new rescue station system has been invested in to serve the increasing needs of tourists.

Tam Thang Square also received over 155 billion VND in funding from businesses, was constructed at lightning speed in 75 days, and has officially opened, attracting thousands of tourists to take photos and have fun.

Unable to hide her delight, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung (a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City) said: "I go to Vung Tau quite often, but this time I was truly surprised. The space is clean, beautiful, and airy; strolling on the stone-paved sidewalks and admiring the sea is very pleasant."

Mr. Tran Quoc Huy (a tourist from Binh Duong ) also shared: "What I like most is that the access routes to the beach are now wide and unobstructed. In the evening, the artistic lighting along Thuy Van Street is very beautiful, creating the feeling of being in a modern seaside city."

With its transformed appearance, Bai Sau beach in Vung Tau ward, Ho Chi Minh City, is not just a familiar swimming beach but has become a modern cultural, tourism , and entertainment space, promising to bring new impetus to Vung Tau's development in the coming period.
