On December 30th, the Internal Affairs Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a conference to summarize the internal affairs work of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee in 2023 and to outline directions and tasks for 2024.
In 2023, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee paid attention to leading and directing the full, serious, and effective implementation of resolutions, circulars, directives, conclusions, programs, plans, and coordination regulations of the Central Committee and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on internal security, anti-corruption, and judicial reform. At the same time, it strengthened leadership and direction in inspecting and supervising internal affairs, anti-corruption, and judicial reform.
In addition, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee leads and directs the handling of prominent, complex, and pressing issues related to security and order; complex corruption and negative cases that attract public attention; and cases monitored and directed by the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negative Phenomena and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee.
Under the leadership and guidance of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the activities of the Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and the Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee for Judicial Reform have become increasingly rigorous, systematic, and effective.

Investigation, prosecution, trial, and execution of judgments have achieved many positive results; the development and implementation of programs and plans on combating corruption and negative practices are becoming increasingly proactive, effective, and appropriate to the specific circumstances of each locality, agency, and unit.
Concluding the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, instructed the City Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department to continue coordinating and effectively implementing tasks related to security and internal affairs, anti-corruption, and judicial reform in 2024, especially the role of the standing agency of the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Anti-Negative Affairs and the Steering Committee for Judicial Reform.
The Internal Affairs Department of the City Party Committee needs to continue to coordinate well with relevant agencies, creating close, regular, and timely cooperation to advise the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on leading and directing the effective implementation of security and internal affairs work, anti-corruption and anti-negative practices, and judicial reform in the city.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nen requested that agencies within the city's internal affairs sector continue to effectively carry out their respective political tasks, building on strengths and overcoming limitations and shortcomings in 2023. In particular, it is necessary to strengthen organizational structure, focus on training and development, and improve the quality and efficiency of the work of officials and civil servants.
Local Party committees' internal affairs departments need to continue to promote the leadership role of local internal affairs agencies, coordinate smoothly in carrying out professional tasks, and ensure absolute security and order for the people during the upcoming holidays.
The Internal Affairs Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has been nominated for a commendation from the Prime Minister.
In 2023, the Internal Affairs Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee advised the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negative Phenomena in Ho Chi Minh City to focus on leading and directing the effective implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws on anti-corruption and negative phenomena.
In addition, maintain regular inter-agency judicial meetings to exchange information and reach consensus on resolving complex cases; focus on reviewing and resolving outstanding and temporarily suspended cases.
State management in areas supporting the judicial system has been strengthened, with proactive measures being taken to improve the quality and effectiveness of state management in the fields of notarization, lawyers, and auctions.
With many positive results in internal affairs work, the Internal Affairs Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has been proposed by the Central Internal Affairs Committee to receive a commendation from the Prime Minister.
