Central Committee for Mass Mobilization of the Vietnam Red Cross Society gives gifts to people in flooded areas in Ninh Binh

On September 14, in Duc Long commune (Nho Quan district), comrades: Pham Tat Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization; Nguyen Hai Anh, Vice President, General Secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society and the working delegation visited and presented gifts to poor households affected by floods in Gia Vien and Nho Quan districts.

Accompanying the delegation were comrade Nguyen Hoang Ha, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial Red Cross Society, Gia Vien and Nho Quan districts.

Storm No. 3, especially its circulation, has caused serious consequences, greatly affecting the lives of people in some northern provinces, including Ninh Binh province.

In Ninh Binh province, Gia Vien and Nho Quan districts were the two most affected localities. The river water rose rapidly, causing flooding and isolating many places; some communes even had to carry out evacuation orders, greatly affecting people's lives.

On behalf of the working delegation, comrade Nguyen Hai Anh, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society acknowledged and highly appreciated the command work in response and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 in Ninh Binh province. The province's proactiveness and positivity in implementing solutions to prevent and respond to natural disasters have ensured absolute safety for people's lives and property, especially for households that have evacuated. Along with that, local Party committees, authorities and Red Cross Societies at all levels have also done a good job of providing relief, food and medicine to people in flooded areas.

At the program, the delegation presented 200 million VND in cash and 200 boxes of household goods with a total value of over 230 million VND to people affected by floods in Nho Quan and Gia Vien districts. The delegation also visited, presented gifts and encouraged households affected by floods in Duc Long commune, hoping that the families would soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

Receiving the gifts from the Working Group, the leaders of Nho Quan and Gia Vien districts pledged to direct the relevant agencies to coordinate and use the gifts for the right purposes and effectively so that people affected by floods can soon stabilize their lives.
