On September 14th, in Duc Long commune (Nho Quan district), comrades Pham Tat Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization; Nguyen Hai Anh, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society ; and the delegation visited and presented gifts to disadvantaged households affected by floods in Gia Vien and Nho Quan districts.
Accompanying the delegation were Comrade Nguyen Hoang Ha, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, the Provincial Red Cross Society, and the Red Cross Societies of Gia Vien and Nho Quan districts.
Typhoon No. 3, especially its circulation, caused severe consequences and significantly affected the lives of people in several northern provinces, including Ninh Binh province.
In Ninh Binh province, Gia Vien and Nho Quan districts were the two most affected areas. The river water rose rapidly, causing flooding and isolating many places; in fact, some communes had to implement evacuation orders, significantly impacting people's lives.
On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh, Vice President and Secretary General of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, acknowledged and highly appreciated Ninh Binh province's command and response efforts to mitigate the consequences of Typhoon No. 3. The province's proactive and positive approach in implementing disaster prevention and response measures ensured the absolute safety of lives and property for the people, especially those who evacuated. In addition, local Party committees, authorities, and Red Cross societies at all levels also did a good job in providing relief, supplying food and medicine to the people in the flooded areas.
During the program, the delegation donated 200 million VND in cash and 200 boxes of household goods, totaling over 230 million VND, to people affected by floods in Nho Quan and Gia Vien districts. The delegation also visited, presented gifts, and encouraged families affected by floods in Duc Long commune, hoping that they would soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
Upon receiving the gifts from the delegation, the leaders of Nho Quan and Gia Vien districts pledged to direct relevant agencies to coordinate and use the gifts appropriately and effectively so that people affected by the floods can quickly stabilize their lives.
