Vietnamese shooting excels, wins 4 more medals at Asian championship

The Vietnamese shooting team won four more medals in the competitions this morning (October 28).

Specifically, in the women's 10m standard portable air rifle event, shooter Nguyen Thi Thu Hang brought home the silver medal for the Vietnamese team. Thu Hang competed excellently to reach the gold medal match, before losing to shooter Irnazarova Zukhra (Kazakhstan) with a score of 2-6.

Thu Hang then, along with Le Thao Ngoc and Duong Thi Trang, also competed steadily in the women's 10m standard portable air rifle team event to win silver, just behind the Kazakhstan team.

In the men's 10m standard portable air rifle event, shooter Nguyen Tuan Anh won the bronze medal in the men's individual event. In the team event, the trio Nguyen Tuan Anh, Ngo Huu Vuong and Nguyen Cong Dau also competed well, winning the bronze medal overall, behind the teams of Korea (HCV) and Kazakhstan (HCB).

Thus, the Vietnamese shooting team has 2 more silver medals and 2 bronze medals in the portable air rifle events.

In the previous competition days, Vietnamese shooting won 3 bronze medals, thanks to Trinh Thu Vinh (women's 10m air pistol event), teammates Nguyen Thuy Trang and Lai Cong Minh (mixed 10m air pistol event), teammates Pham Quang Huy, Phan Cong Minh, Lai Cong Minh (men's 10m air pistol team event).

In total, the Vietnamese shooting team has won 7 medals, including 2 silver and 5 bronze medals at the Asian Shooting Championship. The team's goal is to win more medals as well as have athletes who meet Olympic standards, to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Currently, the Vietnamese shooting team only has Trinh Thu Vinh who has qualified to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The remaining athletes such as Pham Quang Huy, Nguyen Thuy Trang, Lai Cong Minh... need to have good results in regional tournaments to qualify for the tournament.
